It wasn’t the best of officiate, the referee was against us and helped Nigeria to win,” he said.
In reaction to Bishaw’s comments, Keshi said: “We defeated them in their country, was that the referee’s help too? Ethiopia is a good side but we are just better”.

M.I Abaga The chairman: His Burning Desire For Greatness

With two successful albums, several mix-tapes, multiple awards, creative collaborations under his belt and his latest skit as part of the trio of prestigious judges on the recently concluded Glo Xfactor, MI Abaga speaks to ‘Essentials’ about his forth-coming album and his burning desire for greatness.

Since the release of your first album, Mr Incredible, you have been churning out hit after hit. What do you reckon is your distinctive quality, especially in Nigeria’s highly competitive music industry?
I think it’s that fire, that burning desire within me to keep bringing good stuff. For a music-lover like me, there’s the hunger to always offer more music to the world. Now, when a hit is made, it is the determination and hard work put in – not just to bring about a song – that makes it a masterpiece in its own way. But, of course, none of this would be possible without God who is the strength, unrelenting spirit and the ultimate gift.

A 23-year-old engineering student pleaded guilty Friday to animal cruelty for hurling his roommate’s kitten against the wall, leaving it so badly hurt it had to be put down.
Bassey Okokon had admitted that he did it because he was angry and annoyed with the tabby named Braveheart, which had been scratching the carpet and couch on Feb. 11, 2013.
The owner found the cat in convulsions and took it to an animal hospital but it had broken legs, head trauma and a spinal injury, the Ottawa Humane Society reported after Okokon was charged for what an inspector called an “appalling” act of “viciousness.”
“He obviously has significant anger issues,” said prosecutor David Elhadad, who argued for a suspended sentence including 12 months probation and counselling.

Friends Deserted Me When I Was Sick – Paul Play Dairo

Friends Deserted Me When I Was Sick – Paul Play Dairo

After a seven-year hiatus, ace music producer and artiste, Paul Play Dairo, is working towards staging a big come back. Having dropped a total of five singles since March, he says the response has been massive. In spite of the seeming lull in album sales, the RnB star who says he is up-to- beat with current trends in the music scene, still intends to drop a ‘luxury’ album.
The idea is basically to fill in the gap since my last album and also sample people’s opinion. Thankfully, the online comments have been encouraging. So far, I have recorded 20 songs and some of them have already been released as singles. I am currently tidying my gospel and each track has an element of Nigerian flavor and pop.
“The bulk of the money is no longer coming from album sales because these songs are already online and people are downloading them. Music business is now streamlined to performance and endorsement. I am still going ahead with the limited edition album which will be expensive because that way I will be able to control and monitor the sales and distribution,” he discloses.

“I have lost few jobs because of my line” – Julius Agwu Battles Etisalat

Julius Agwu is obviously mad at one of Nigeria’s telcos, Etisalat – the comedian’s problem is multifaceted, so is better you hear from the horse's mouth.

‘While I was in America to see my new baby, I suddenly realized that my Etisalat line was inactive. I couldn’t receive and make calls. I went to Etisalat office in Hilton to complain and to discover what the problem was.
I was told someone asked the company to swap my line. I got very worried immediately and queried them. How could someone’s line get swapped without the authorization of the owner? Even as the owner of the line, I would issue an authorization letter to effect that. I was worried because I personally registered the line and I told them I want to know the staff that granted the request but they refused.
