Baptist
preachers have a reputation for being blunt and direct — but a pastor in
Oklahoma has taken it to a whole new level.
Dr.
Jim Standridge, 76, of Immanuel Baptist Church in Skiatook declared, “I’m
important, I’m somebody!” after he noticed one of his members was napping
during his morning sermon.
He
proceeded to another member who obviously would be getting wedded in the church,
“what makes you think I’d marry you? You’re one of the sorriest church members I
have. You’re not worth 15 cents. And you want me to marry you to her?”
