Do
you remember the novel ‘Pride and Prejudice’? Well, the the Bank of England has
announced that the author, Jane Austen will become the new face of the £10 note
starting from 2017. Jane would replace Charles Darwin, who has featured on the £10
note since 2000.
This
gesture is in response to critics who say there are not enough women represented
on banknotes.
Just
wondering when the likes of Flora Nwapa, Buchi Emecheta, Adaora Lily Ulasi, Molara
Ogundipe, and others would appear on our currency.
