Beyonce and Jay Z’s Marriage Crumbling, Bey Wants a Trial Separation

Jay Z and Beyonce married in 2008 and welcomed their adorable daughter, Blue Ivy, in 2012 — but on Nov. 13 it was reported that Bey was thinking about taking a break from their marriage because she thought Jay wasn’t putting the family first.

According to latinpost, Queen Bee wants a trial separation from Jay Z because she feels that he isn't fulfilling his duties as a husband and father to their 19-month-old daughter.

Jay Z reportedly visited his wife to have a 3-day mini vacation at a private resort to make their relationship better, while Beyoncé was in Australia performing for her tour.

"Jay Z's early November trip to Australia was not just a family getaway, it was a last-ditch effort to keep his marriage afloat," a source said. "Jay Z's decision to tour Europe at the same time as Beyoncé is touring Australia has caused serious damage to their relationship - damage that may be ultimately proved to be irreparable."

Lecturer, 4 other suspects paraded as Boko Haram members

Nigeria’s Department of State Services said it uncovered a Boko Haram cell in the central Nigerian state of Kogi and arrested five persons, including a university teacher.

Miss Marilyn Ogar, the Deputy Director, Public Relations Department of State Services, claimed in Abuja that the suspects were allegedly plotting to launch violent attacks in Igalaland in Kogi.

She said the don, identified as Muhammed Yunus, taught Arabic and Islamic Studies at the Kogi state University, Ayingba.

Ogar, who presented the suspects to newsmen, said that three of the suspects were arrested in a mosque in Zuba, FCT, while two others were arrested in Jos and Kogi respectively.

She said one of the suspects, the lecturer, was the spiritual leader and recruitment coordinator while others were head of operations/instructor, chief courier and foot soldiers in Kogi.

A United Methodist minister convicted of breaking church law by officiating at the same-sex wedding of his son in the US said on Tuesday he is unrepentant, declaring he has been called by God to be an advocate for the rights of gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender people.

The Reverend Frank Schaefer, testifying at the penalty phase of his church trial, again refused to promise he wouldn't perform another same-sex union. Three of his four children are gay.

The church “needs to stop judging people based on their sexual orientation”, he said.

“We have to stop the hate speech. We have to stop treating them as second-class Christians,” he told a jury of fellow United Methodist pastors.

Husband seeks marriage dissolution because of wife’s alleged weekend party lifestyle

A 38-year-old man, Ahmed Kareem, on Tuesday urged an Ilorin Area Court to dissolve his marriage to his wife, Aminat, over alleged going to parties every weekend.

Kareem, of Osere Area, Ilorin, told the court to dissolve his four-year-old marriage to Aminat, because she has no time for him and his family.

“My wife has no time for her family. Instead, she prefers attending parties and abandoning her domestic responsibilities,” he said.

He said the marriage was contracted in 2009 and had produced one male child.

“I want an end to this marriage because I cannot cope with her party lifestyle anymore,” he said.

How was filming on the set of the successful "Lekki Wives". Is working on TV in Nigeria dramatically different from Ghana?

No, we are so alike; we are cousins; Nigerians and Ghanaians are so alike, the only difference is our names.  I played a lead character role and I’m a new wife that has been introduced in this season.  It was very different, I wouldn’t say it was challenging as I’ve just come off and have learnt so much on the  ‘Adams Apples’ set.  I thank GOD for Shirley Frimpong-Manso as if she hadn’t given me that chance I would have sacked on "Lekki Wives’.  It was good, a great experience and I think that the only challenge that I have is I was trying to get some Nigerian words to roll off my tongue and it just wouldn’t roll (laughs heartily). That was the only challenge.

Private Jet Owners Begin Strike Over New Aviation Charges

Private jet owners in the country yesterday commenced an indefinite strike over a directive from the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) announcing a new price regime for all private airlines operating in the country.

In a circular dated November 18, 2013, and  signed  by  the agency’s director of operations, Mr J.C. Onyegiri, on behalf of the managing director,  all  foreign  registered aircraft  engaging in non-scheduled operations were directed  to pay  the sum of $3,000 fees for every departure except  round trips without  changes  in passenger manifest or return  ferry. Such fees, NAMA maintained, must be paid in advance and before any departure.

The New York Post, a popular US based tabloid has reported how a Nigerian oil, gas and aviation tycoon, Mr Kola Aluko spent about $1.5 million in a few hours at Leonardo DiCaprio’s star-studded birthday bash.

According to nypost.com, the Multimillionaire businessman Aluko, a co-founder of the Made in Africa Foundation who was recently seen lunching in Paris with Naomi Campbell, was among a group of wealthy businessman who bought bottle after bottle of champagne at ­DiCaprio’s 39th birthday party at Tao Downtown late Sunday night.

The website reported that other big spenders at the lavish fete included “The Wolf of Wall Street” producer Joey McFarland and Texas businessman Nate Paul.

Oke Ndigbo vows to release list of 242 public officers who own armoured cars

A group, Oke Ndigbo, has threatened to release a list of about 242 public officers in Nigeria, who use about 312 armoured cars, to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC.

Its threat came against the backdrop of the case involving Aviation Minister, Princess Oduah, who was fingered in the purchase of two armoured cars by Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA.

The group lamented the virulence of the attacks on the minister by people from the South-West zone, since the armoured car debacle became public knowledge.

In a statement by its National Co-ordinator, Mr Jude Nworah, the group said that the South-West has 38 percent  or 118 of such cars, adding that the first government official in the first four years of this Republic to import armoured Mercedes Benz Jeep into the country was a former governor from the zone.

An aspiring West End star was killed after using her first tampon and suffering toxic shock syndrome, her distraught family has revealed.

Talented 14-year-old Natasha Scott-Falber died on Valentine's Day just a few days after using the product for the first time.

Before now, her horrified relatives believed she died as a result of blood poisoning, but following a post-mortem and toxic tests, medical investigations recently revealed Natasha died as a direct result of toxic shock syndrome.

Toxic shock syndrome is a bacterial infection caused when usually harmless Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus bacteria, which live on the skin, invade the bloodstream and produce dangerous toxins. The infection causes a sudden high fever and a massive drop in blood pressure.

The 43-year-old actress turned movie producer says “I wish I knew my father. I’m the only child of my mother, and my father was a Whiteman. Ijaw National Congress Leader, Tari Sekibo Slumps, Dies in Yenagoa

President of the Ijaw National Congress, Senator Tari Sekibo, slumped and died in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital, on Monday.

Sekibo, who hailed from Okrika in Rivers State, was in the state to hold a meeting with his officials when he met his death.

Reason for his slumping and eventual death could not be ascertained as of press time.

The death of the Okrika chief has thrown the state and the government into a mourning mood as the scheduled meeting was cancelled.
