Filo: A source confirms to US Weekly that Madonna's 16-year-old daughter, Leon is dating high school senior and Homeland Star Chalamet.

Women face arrest for wearing miniskirts in Uganda

Kiyo: Women in Uganda who go out wearing mini-skirts could face jail or a heavy fine under a new anti-pornography law.

The Anti-Pornography Bill 2011 proposes that those found guilty of abetting pornography be fined up to 10 million Ugandan shillings (£2,500) or jailed for up to 10 years, or both.

Simon Lokodo, Uganda's ethics and integrity minister, who proposed the Bill, said: 'Any attire which exposes intimate parts of the human body, especially areas that are of erotic function, are outlawed. Anything above the knee is outlawed. If a woman wears a miniskirt, we will arrest her.'

 ‘Celebrities such as Beyoncé and Madonna would be banned from Ugandan television’ said Mr Lokodo.

Filo: This is a bill against the rights of women, how is mini skirt abetting pornography? I just hope we are not returning to the era of Idi Amin. Anyway, Ugandans have taken to twitter to register their displeasure.

SPAIN: Minimum Legal Age of Marriage Raised from 14 to 16 years

Kiyo: The Spanish government has raised the minimum legal age for marriage from 14 to 16 years.

Spain's Minister of Health, Social Services and Equality Ana Mato Friday said that change was aimed at "improving the wellbeing and quality of life of youngsters"

Generally Spaniards need to be 18 to marry, however, people as young as 14 can do so with permission from a judge or their family.

‘The government will also ask parliament to raise the minimum age of consent for sex from the current 13 years’, the minister said.

GHANA MUSIC AWARD POSTPONED

Kiyo: The 14th edition of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), scheduled for today April 6, has been postponed to May 18; though the new date has not been officially confirmed but sources say organizers are only putting out the date to save their shamed faces.

This year's event was thrown into a limbo after managers of the Dome, which is currently Ghana's largest events venue with a sitting capacity of about 4,000, announced its closure for renovations works.

Our investigations revealed that, the said publication was a hoax that the marriage certificate is from a movie John Dumelo shot with Harrina Alexander Dembele.

Filo: Beyonce and Jay-Z caused a big stir in Havana as they marked their fifth wedding anniversary on Thursday.

The R&B's couple were mobbed by dozens of well-wishers as they stepped out together to enjoy a celebratory lunch and sightseeing in the Cuban capital.

The 31-year-old singer cut a striking image, with her hair styled into cornrows.

She was wearing a patterned yellow ensemble which showed off her legs while rapper Jay-Z, 43, looked like the quintessential tourist in shorts, a blue T-shit and hat.

Deadly floods devastate Argentina's capital region

Kiyo: Scores of people have died in Argentina after flooding caused by days of torrential rain in the low-lying capital and province of Buenos Aires. The weather has devastated the region and left thousands without power.

At least 46 people died Wednesday in and around the city of La Plata, about 37 miles southwest of Buenos Aires, Governor Daniel Scioli said. "The bodies began to appear as the water subsided," said Scioli.

In some areas, the flood water reached heights of six feet, with residents climbing onto rooftops or trees to escape the raging rivers.

At least 2,500 people have been evacuated from their homes and the flooding has threatened to ruin food supplies across the La Plata metropolitan area, which has a population of nearly 1 million people.

National Planning Minister Julio de Video estimated that 280,000 people remain without power in the capital area.

Barack Obama to give up 5% of salary in show of solidarity over cuts

Kiyo: Barack Obama will return 5% of his salary to the US treasury in a show of solidarity with federal workers affected by $85bn in government-wide spending cuts.

The 5% that Obama will hand back mirrors the 5% cut that domestic agencies took when the reductions went into effect.

Currently, every federal agency is grappling with spending cuts, which the White House has said could affect everything from commercial flights to classrooms.

A 5% cut from the president's salary of $400,000 (£265,000) a year amounts to $20,000.

Filo: Obama is not the first president to extend such gesture, John F Kennedy once donated his presidential salary to various charities, just call it leadership by example. With this news I know you are thinking if it is worth it queuing all day for visa, Kiyo, it appears the grass over there is not so green after all.

The 32-year-old reality show star was recently forced to respond to criticism of her maternity style.

'I saw some comments that the skirt is too tight for the pregnancy and that’s ridiculous! I bought this skirt a few sizes bigger and there is plenty of room.'

Former Eagles defender, Taribo West accused of lying about his age

Kiyo: The former Inter Milan strongman Taribo West, has been accused of reducing his age by as much as 12 years when he joined Partizan Belgrade in 2002.

The former defender, renowned for his colourful hairstyle is said to have been 40 years old when he joined the Serbian team in 2002 though he claimed he was 28 years old.

Zarko Zecevic, former Partizan president made this claim in a report published by the Daily Mail.

“He joined us saying he was 28. We only later found out he was 40, but he was still playing well so I don’t regret having him on the team,” Zecevic told Daily Mail.

Filo: Somebody is obviously missing a thing here; a 40 year old that looks like 28, plays like 28, talks like 28, is he not 28 in his mind? 

Rev. King Appeals against Death Sentence at Supreme Court

Kiyo: General Overseer of the Christian Praying Assembly, Chukwuemeka Ezeugo (aka Rev. King), has again appealed to the Supreme Court seeking to reverse the death sentence passed on him by a Lagos High Court in Ikeja on January 11, 2007.

The cleric, who was sentenced to death by hanging for the murder of a church member, is appealing against the judgment of the Court of Appeal, Lagos which on February 1, 2013 affirmed the Lagos High Court’s verdict.

Norwegian students get exams postponed due to Bieber Concert

Kiyo: Five schools in western Norway have rescheduled their midterm exams to allow students to attend upcoming Justin Bieber concerts in the capital, the country's Ministry of Education and Research said Wednesday.

The Canadian pop star is scheduled to perform in the Norwegian capital on April 16 and 17 -- stoking fears that some students in remote schools will skip midterm exams scheduled to take place at the same time.

Bieber is extremely popular in the Nordic country, where his free concert in Oslo last year resulted in dozens of injuries as teenage girls fought to get better glimpses of the 19-year-old icon.

Nollywood Stars Storm Ghana for "Flower Girl" Premiere on Friday April 5

Filo: On Friday 5th April, 2013, the romantic-comedy Flower Girl would premiere at the Silverbird Cinemas, Accra. In what is expected to be a glitzy and glamorous red-carpet affair, the event will witness attendances from some of the most prominent names on the movie, music, corporate and political scene in both Ghana and Nigeria.

Kiyo: Charles Nii Armah Mensah Junior popularly known in Ghana showbiz as Bandana thinks it was childish for Samini to have done a song to diss the duo. He says it will be difficult to defend in the law court that P-Square stole our Azonto.

He said in an interview with Flex newspaper that the ‘Alingo’ dance is on its own just as ‘Azonto’. “There is this saying that pay attention to your interior matters. Any time I do music that has something to do with him (Samini) he doesn’t reply but saw it necessary to respond to P-Square. He has painted a bad picture about Ghana,” he noted.
