Kiyo: The Spanish
government has raised the minimum legal age for marriage from 14 to 16 years.
Spain's
Minister of Health, Social Services and Equality Ana Mato Friday said that
change was aimed at "improving the wellbeing and quality of life of
youngsters"
Generally
Spaniards need to be 18 to marry, however, people as young as 14 can do so with
permission from a judge or their family.
‘The
government will also ask parliament to raise the minimum age of consent for sex
from the current 13 years’, the minister said.
Filo: Whether 14 or 16,
these are teens that are yet to come to terms with biological changes in their
body system; how do you manage a man when you don’t even understand yourself?
