Joey Chestnut eats 69 hot dogs in 10 minutes, sets new world record

Joey Chestnut won Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest again this year, eating 69 hot dogs in 10 minutes. It was the seventh straight time that Chestnut has won the annual Coney Island event, and the third time in the past six years that he’d set a new world record.
(Totaling up those six contests, Chestnut has eaten 380 hot dogs across six annual 10-minute increments—which means in the equivalent of one hour, he’s devoured more than 110,000 calories, or as many calories as the average person is recommended to consume in nearly two months.)

Niger Delta may no longer enjoy 13% derivation – Mitee

The Chairman, Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, Mr. Ledum Mitee, has said the Niger Delta region will no longer enjoy the 13 per cent derivation that accrues from Company Income Tax if the current Petroleum Profit Tax is replaced with the Nigerian Hydrocarbon Tax as proposed in the Petroleum Industries Bill.
He also said the volume of crude oil production might be difficult to ascertain except a new royalty provision was included in the PIB.
Mitee made these observations in a paper entitled, ‘Some reflections on the Petroleum Industry Bill and the Niger Delta’, which he delivered at a workshop organised by AFROFIT Consult in Calabar, Cross River State on Thursday.
He said whereas NHT would be subject to the 13 per cent derivation, the CIT would not, adding that this was one of the implications of the proposed changes to the derivation principle.

Pastor goes ballistic on church members who were sleeping during sermon

Baptist preachers have a reputation for being blunt and direct — but a pastor in Oklahoma has taken it to a whole new level.
Dr. Jim Standridge, 76, of Immanuel Baptist Church in Skiatook declared, “I’m important, I’m somebody!” after he noticed one of his members was napping during his morning sermon.
He proceeded to another member who obviously would be getting wedded in the church, “what makes you think I’d marry you? You’re one of the sorriest church members I have. You’re not worth 15 cents. And you want me to marry you to her?”
Check out the video; let’s know what you think!
