19-Foot Python Captured & Killed Near Miami, Sets Florida State Record

Hard to believe a Python this large still exist; anyway here is the gist!
Earlier this month, a man caught and killed a nearly 19-foot, 128-pound Burmese python near Miami. The snake is believed to be the largest ever captured in the state of Florida.
On May 11, Jason Leon spotted roughly three feet of python protruding from some bushes in a rural area of Miami-Dade County. He pulled the 18-foot, 8-inch python to the road, only to lose control of the giant female snake, which quickly wrapped itself around his arms and legs. After calling for help, Leon killed the python with a knife.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission released a statement thanking Leon.
“Jason Leon’s night time sighting and capture of a Burmese python of more than 18 feet in length is a notable accomplishment that set a Florida record. The FWC is grateful to him both for safely removing such a large Burmese python and for reporting its capture,” said Kristen Sommers, with FWC, in a release.

Lindsay Lohan Sued for $5 Million by Clothing Company over Leggings Line

An apparel manufacturer that partnered with Lohan's leggings line 6126 is firing back at the actress' 2013 lawsuit over a licensing dispute, claiming that the embattled star's tarnished reputation severely hampered the company's ability to suitably peddle her clothing line to buyers.
In a $5 million breach-of-contract counter claim filed against Lohan Friday in a California U.S. District Court and obtained by E! News, clothing company DNAM alleges that while the starlet's leggings line initially enjoyed some success at department stores in 2010, buyers eventually began to pull back "because they did not want to be associated with Lohan's drug addled image."

Nigerian girl going home with new face and new life

San Diego, California Talk Radio Station - 760 KFMB AM - 760kfmb

A Nigerian girl who was born with severe facial defects is getting a chance at a new life thanks to San Diego surgeons.
Favour Mwuzor finally gets to be a kid again. But to get to this point it took a flight from Nigeria, several surgeries and a lot of love.
Doris Mwuzor started looking for help the day Favour was born, but her search was going nowhere.
"In Nigeria - I did not know what she was going through - I knew physical deformity - but why - I didn't know until I came here," she said.
Favour was born with a congenital disorder which caused underdeveloped ears and a severely disfigured jaw. And to correct them, doctors in Nigeria knew she needed to go somewhere with better medical services.
So a non-profit organisation called Fresh Start Surgical Gifts brought her to San Diego, where she's undergone three surgeries in six months, and was forced to wear a device called a distractor.
"Waking up from surgery - her first question to the nurse was - when do I get to ride my bike again," said Amanda Thompson.

Boko Haram: Army Arrests Orange Seller with N600million

Boko Haram: Army Arrests Orange Seller with N600million

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 1 Division Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Major-General Garba Wahab, at the weekend, said the media should not eulogize criminals as the division has arrested a suspected orange seller who spied for terrorists and over N600 million was found in his bank account within three months. The GOC, whose area of command covers the north-western states, while fielding questions from newsmen in Kaduna relating to why the army is carrying out general search without discrimination, said, “When we stop those who are hawking and carrying wheelbarrow, and we said we want to check, people will shout, ‘Why are you disturbing the average person?’ And I give you example; we arrested somebody here called mai lemu (orange seller) in Kawo. And in three months when we checked through his account, over 600 million naira has passed through that man’s account, and he sells orange here by Kawo bridge. He is there as a lookout. He is like a spy. He looks around, gets information and feeds these guys, says this is what is happening. That is why I said we are not dealing with idiots. We are dealing with people who have one or two guys working and thinking, and giving them information. And we know that before they attack, they must look at the softest locations.”
Wahab added that it is a criminality that the media and society must cooperate and ensure that it is brought to an end.
