30 Gunmen Storm Palace At Mid-Night in Akwa Ibom, Kidnap Monarch

The Paramount Ruler of Esit Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Ubong Assam, was yesterday, abducted by no fewer than 30 gunmen, who stormed his palace at 2a.m.

The kidnappers took the royal father to Unyeghe village, Mbo Local Government Area in a car, transferred him to a waiting speedboat and left for the high seas.

The kidnap, it was learnt, might be in connection with ₦2.6 billion compensation paid by ExxonMobil to the four host local government communities, which the youths had rejected.

Although the security personnel attached to the royal father attempted to rescue him, the kidnappers’ superior fire power won the day.

The Paramount Ruler, who was sleeping when the gunmen struck, was according to a source, not maltreated by the abductors.

Kim Kardashian was given a special birthday surprise last night when her rapper boyfriend proposed to her.

Kanye popped the question in front of friends and family at AT&T Park in San Francisco where Kim was celebrating her 33rd birthday.

Kim's 15-carat diamond engagement ring was made by Lorraine Schwartz.

Bloody Clash As Bamanga Tukur-Led PDP Opens Office in Kano

A bloody clash broke out at the Bamanga Tukur-led PDP office in Kano among political thugs and party supporters who were at the office yesterday to witness the inauguration of the state committee members at the new office at Court Road, Kano.

Aminu Balami, a PDP supporter, who witnessed the happenings, gave account of how the fracas started. “As the event was about to end with closing prayers, we just saw about seven young men coming in from nowhere. Before the twinkling of an eye they just brought out machetes and began attacking everyone at the office”, he said.

Balami confirmed that together they retaliated and wounded all the attackers.

“All of them sustained injuries; they were not successful,” he maintained.

A number of young men were seen fleeing the area with various degrees of injuries, while others were seen in police vehicles with blood all over their bodies and were taken away.

Mailafiya, a policeman, said that he captured one of the attackers and successfully confiscated his machete after he had already wounded some persons.

Nigerian superstar Naeto C and South African airwaves hotshot, AKA, have been announced as the co-hosts of the upcoming tenth annual Channel O Africa Music Video Awards. The two will bring a one-two star punch to the star-studded live show, taking place on Saturday, 30 November at Walter Sisulu Square in Kliptown Soweto.

Naeto C and AKA’s star wattage will also be on full display to music fans throughout Africa as the two keep the action rolling during the broadcast, which goes out live on Channel O at 20:00.

₦255m cars scandal: Embattled Oduah storms Aso Villa, seeks private chat with Jonathan

Indications emerged Sunday night that the Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, is currently fighting with both teeth and tongue in order to save her job.

It was learnt that the troubled Minister within the last days had been seeking private audience with President Goodluck Jonathan for one on one chat over the ongoing crisis in the aviation sector.

Sources said that Miss Oduah was spotted at the Presidential Villa in Abuja during the weekend looking so troubled and shattered, following the calls by Nigerians for her immediate removal over the acquisition of two BMW bulletproof cars for her official use.

A close insider, who was present during Oduah’s visit to the Villa, told Punch that she “wanted to explain herself to the President, who like every Nigerian, was embarrassed by the media reports and the evidence of the purchase of the two cars at an outrageous sum of ₦255m.”

Obafemi Martins welcomes baby boy with Mario Balotelli’s Sister

Reports suggest that Nigerian footballer Obafemi Martins has welcomed his third child from his third baby mama. Abigail Barwuah, the older sister of Ghanaian-Italian footballer Mario Balotelli gave birth to a baby boy on Wednesday October 16th in Italy.

Both Martins and Abigail have been dating since 2012 and according to several reports; she lost two pregnancies for the Super Eagles frontman, with the last case of miscarriage in December 2012. However, it is understood she got pregnant almost immediately.

Martins, who is yet to be married, has two other sons.

Pastor Marvin Winans Refuses to Dedicate Children Born Out of Wedlock [VIDEO]

Charity Grace lives on the east side of the city with her 2-year-old son, Joshua. The two recently started to attend Perfecting Church under the leadership of Pastor Marvin Winans.

On Sunday, a special blessing is planned at the church on East Nevada Street. They are having a dedication service for children two years old and under. Grace was looking forward to having her only child receive this blessing.

"I want to instill values and morals in my son based upon the word of God," said Grace.

She called the church on Tuesday to make arrangements. "I told them I was not married and that's where everything just broke loose."

Grace says she spoke with a woman who told her Pastor Winans' policy is that he is not to bless children of unwed mothers in front of his congregation.

"I've never felt so degraded and disrespected in my life," said Grace.
