I’m not dating Michael Bobby Obodo, he is a colleague – Jackie Appiah

I am Jackie Appiah, a Ghanaian but was born in Canada in the early 80s. We moved back to Ghana in 1993. I had a very happy childhood with lots of friends.

One of the biggest actresses in Ghana
I feel blessed and favoured. God has honoured me with this precious talent. He has made me known across the globe, and I have made people laugh and cry. I am happy to be in this profession and I am happy my people appreciate the work that I do, especially my fans.

Me and Nollywood
Nigeria is like my second home. I think the acceptance was buoyed by the fact that I won the best supporting actress at Africa Movie Academy Awards. I came back the following year, got an award as the best actress in leading role and each time I came around, producers contacted me to take up roles in their movies and that was it.

See excerpts;

What attracted you to work with the Hennessy brand and their “Wild Rabbit” campaign?
They called me and it was just great timing. I’ve been on the Henny for so long. That’s everybody’s original drink. So over the years I tried a lot of different things, from tequila, to whatever. And I’ve been away from Henny for a while. And it was ironic, when I got the call from them is when I got back into Hennessy. It was like magic.

INTERVIEW: I don’t sleep in coffin; I lay in it - Charly Boy

 I don’t sleep in coffin; I lay in it - Charly Boy

As an advocate of the masses, accompanied with your passion for bikes.,What is your stand on the ban of bikes in some parts of the country?

I don’t know what informed that decision and wouldn’t want to talk about the rational of government in accepting this kind of policies that are not favourable to the masses. It is insensitive that despite the fact that there is a huge problem of employment; a lot of people who live from hand to mouth are being incapacitated without an alternative means. As far as my eyes can see, what is building up in the country is doom and destruction except we wrestle out our stolen future.

Every star has a mark to be known for, Lagbaja is his mask, Dbanj his Google, yours is your look and several others. Research has it that your stylist and associate singer Tina Onwudiwe created your persona, how true is it and what motivated your style?

Right from time, I have always been wired differently, with the drive to do things different and for the fact that everybody takes a right turn, doesn’t make it right. For me, it is only natural and I have been comfortable in my own skin.
