Nigeria’s rave of the moment, Orezi, who is currently in South Africa shooting the video of his hit song, Rihanna, has actually succeeded in finding Rihanna and she arrived South Africa a couple of days ago-but she is from Mauritius not America!

When efforts to get the American super diva, Rihanna, to feature in the multi million naira video did not work out, reportedly due to her very tight schedule, Orezi and his management team and label, Sprisal Records, went online and decided to shop for a Rihanna look alike.

The search finally paid off when a ‘Rihanna’ sent in her entry from Mauritius. The young, beautiful ‘Rihanna’ named Kim was chosen above over 200 other contestants worldwide.

Dance teacher Katie Dalby filled the ballroom at her wedding when she chose 80 bridesmaids.

The 26-year-old was surrounded by the girls in pink - aged two to 17 - for her special day at St Nicholas Church in Harwich, Essex.

A staggering 74 members of her Boogie Shoes Dance Academy were attendants, as well as Katie's three sisters-in-law, her niece, her cousin and her best friend.

After marrying fireman Norman Gooch, 37, on Saturday, Katie said: "I didn't want to exclude anyone."

Soldiers Beat Policeman to a Pulp in Delta State

Soldiers on Monday, in Koko, Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State attacked and injured police officers from Delta State Police Command, who were on escort duty with the state Commissioner for Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Anthonia Ashiedu.

A police corporal, who drove one of the police vehicles, was beaten to a bloody pulp by the soldiers for allegedly blaring siren in the premises of the Warri North Local Government Council, which is close to a military outpost. He fainted in the process and was rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

Sources say junior police police officers were planning a showdown with soldiers in the state, as they said it has become a tradition for them to attack police officers in the state without justifiable reasons.

19-year-old Fan jailed for hugging Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronald Gjoka, 19, ran onto the pitch in the 67th minute to embrace his idol, only to be arrested by local police and taken to jail for trespassing and disorderly conduct.

Gjoka spent the night in prison before he was allowed to leave the day after, yet he has stressed that the moment was worth the punishment.

"Honestly, first thing was look straight, find Cristiano and don't look back. Just go," Gjoka told Local10.

"I decided to add a little knee slide on it just for a little celebration. I think Ronaldo always does that celebration so I thought that he would find it funny, and he did, he gave it a little laugh.

Kudirat’s Murder: Lagos Drags Al-Mustapha to Supreme Court

The Lagos State Government has filed an appeal at the Supreme Court against the judgments delivered by the Appeal Court in favour of Major Hamza Al-Mustapha and Lateef Shofolahan in the murder case of Alhaja Kudirat Abiola.

The Appeal Court, a month ago, upturned the judgment of the High Court of Lagos which passed death sentence on Al-Mustapha and Shofolahan.

At news conference in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Ade Ipaye said the state government formally filed an appeal at the Supreme Court on Monday against the two judgments delivered by the Appeal Court.

“The Lagos State Ministry of Justice has filed appeal papers against the judgments delivered by the Court of Appeal in the cases of Lateef Shofolahan vs The State and Al-Mustapha vs The State,” he said.

18-year-old South African born Actor Reveals He is Gay [VIDEO]

The South African born actor Troye Sivan, who is best known for playing the title role in the film adaptation of the comedic novel Spud, has revealed that he is gay.

The 18-year-old actor, who also played the role of Young James Howlett in the “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” is currently living with his parents in Perth Australia.

 Sivan, who has almost half a million subscribers on his YouTube channel, decided to announce the news to his fans and followers on the social media video site after he shared the news with his family and friends.

"It feels kind of weird to have to announce something like this on the Internet, but I feel like a lot of you guys are real, genuine friends of mine...but this is not something that I’m ashamed of. It’s not something that anyone should be ashamed of," Troye explained.

Nigeria is Jinxed and Cursed, we should all go to hell –– Obasanjo

While reviewing Nigeria’s history since independence, former President Olusegun Obasanjo said the country may have been cursed with poor and irresponsible leaders.

Mr. Obasanjo, who gave the keynote address at the 4th Annual Ibadan Sustainable Development Summit organised by Centre for Sustainable Development, University of Ibadan, in collaboration with African Sustainable Development Network, on Tuesday, said if Nigerians were yet to commend a leader after 53 years of independence, “Then we are jinxed and cursed; we should all go to hell.”

He also condemned the younger generation of leaders in the country, saying they lack integrity and probity and have failed their people woefully.

Making specific reference to his Vice President for eight years, Atiku Abubakar; former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu; former Speaker, House of Representatives, Salisu Buhari; former Bayelsa State Governor, Deprieye Alamieyeseigha; and others as younger generation of leaders, the former President said Nigeria was not lucky even with them.

A 28-Year-Old Nigerian Singer Found Dead in a Private Beach In Cyprus

The lifeless body of Stanley Eteimo, a 28-year-old Nigerian was found floating in a private beach in Cyprus on Thursday 8th August.

The Budding singer and a Management Information Systems student at Girne American University (GAU) Kyrenia, in the northern area of Cyprus was said to have gone to a party at a popular 5-star hotel called Kratos Hotel on Wednesday August 7th with some friends.

Friends of the late Bayelsa state indigene revealed that while at the party, he met a white girl he knew from school and started chatting with her. The white girl’s boyfriend who was also at the party got jealous and confronted Stanley; which led to serious argument between the two men. The white dude allegedly threatened to kill Stanley for disrespecting him and was overhead saying nothing will happen because Stanley was in his country.

 Soulja Boy has a lot in common with Alec Baldwin -- not that he's as talented, but he's definitely as disrespectful on American Airlines, because the renegade rapper got booted from an AA plane after causing a pre-flight scene.

Just like Alec, Soulja was on American Airlines Friday when the flight attendant took the mic and told everyone to sit down. Soulja, who was standing and walking the aisles, didn't follow the command.

Thereafter a flight attendant approached the rapper and repeated the order and explained the consequences if he didn't obey –– the rapper blew her off.

And just like Alec, he was "removed" from the plane.

Jaywon Not Allowed to Leave Kennis Music on Contract Basis

Kennis Music recording artist, Jaywon, last week revealed his plans to leave the record label in an interview with Hip TV. Kennis music has since released a statement addressing Jaywon’s interview with Hip TV.

Beverly Makes Big Brother History, Sail into BBA finals with Melvin

Nigerian Chasemates Beverly and Melvin will sail to the Finale alongside Ghana’s Elikem and Zambian Cleo. After HoH Elikem made his final decision to save himself and swapped South Africa’s Angelo.

Beverly and Melvin are the last pair standing after all other countries lost one or both of their housemates to evictions during the course of The Chase.

Beverly is the only Housemate who made it to the Finale without having to face eviction throughout the Season. Melvin on the other hand also managed to dodge the dagger until Week 6 when he put himself up for possible eviction instead of swapping any of his fellow housemates who were nominated at the time. Luckily for him, Africa had his back and he was back to continue with The Chase.

Michelle Obama team up with Nigerian born Olajide Williams to release Hip Hop album

In a bid to raise awareness and end childhood obesity, US first lady, Michelle Obama will release a hip-hop album that is set to hit stores in September.

According to reports, the 19-track album would be titled ‘Health Songs for a Healthier America,’ the album will promote the First Lady's "Let's Move!" campaign, which works to combat obesity among children.

Obama would collaborate with Hip Hop Public Health (an institute founded by Dr Olajide Williams) and will also team up with Partnership for a Healthier America.

Although she will not be found singing or rapping in the album, the record will feature big names like Jordin Sparks, Travis Barker, Run DMC, Doug E. Fresh and Monifah.

A single, titled 'Everybody', taken from the album was released last month and features former American Idol Jordin Sparks and Doug E. Fresh.

"Throughout history, music has been a great teacher and motivator, from ABC's and nursery rhymes to religious hymns and national anthems," said Olajide Williams, founder and president of Hip Hop Public Health."It is time to harness this power for health."

EFCC quizzes Bukola Saraki, interrogation continues today

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have quizzed former Kwara State governor Dr Bukola Saraki over his alleged involvement in fraud-related matters during his eight-year tenure and when he was the executive director of the defunct Societe Generale Bank Nigeria Limited (SGBN).

The Commission in an invitation letter, signed by its Director of Operations, Olaolu Adegbite and dated July 25, 2013 was sent through the Clerk of the National Assembly.

The letter with the heading “Investigation Activities on Senator Bukola Saraki”, reads in part: “The EFCC is investigating a case of fraud involving the above Distinguished Senator. We accordingly seek your kind assistance to release him to report to the undersigned at Idiagbon House, No 5 Fomella Street, Wuse 2, Abuja at 10 am on July 31, 2013 in furtherance of the investigation.”

The senator was released last night and asked to report for further interrogation today.

Okupe Assures Of Uninterrupted Power Supply before Year End [VIDEO]

The Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe has assured again that the era of shortage in power supply in most part of the nation will come to an end before the end of the year. This is coming on the heels of recent reports that Power Generation has dropped to 2,628.6 Megawatts.

Addressing a news conference in Abuja, Okupe explained further that on the issue of achieving uninterrupted power supply in Nigeria, the president is not resting on his oars to see that it becomes a reality, but expressed disappointment that the highly transparent and professional manner in which President Jonathan handled the privatization of the power sector is lost on the public in spite of the commendations of the global business community especially international investors.

He said the new owners of the divested assets of Power Holding Company of Nigeria will utilize the presently installed capacities more efficiently and add more power to the 5,000 megawatts already being generated by the country.

Movie Director Leila Djansi Blasts Nigerian Actors, says they are Insecure

Call her controversial, that won’t stop the Director of “I sing of a well” and “Sinking Sands”, Leila Djansi from speaking her mind whenever she wants to.
