18-year-old girl makes history as youngest person to pass UK Bar Exam [PHOTOS]
Gabrielle
Turnquest, from Windermere, has demonstrated superior academic prowess to
become the youngest person to qualify as a barrister in the U.K.
She
was called to the Bar of England and Wales after passing her exams with flying
colors at just 18.
What
makes this achievement even more extraordinary is that the average lawyer
undertakes the notoriously rigorous Bar Professional Training Course when they
are 27, according to The University of Law records.

Police Search Women's Vaginas on Side of the Road [VIDEO]
A
pair of videos posted online show police probing the genitals and anal regions
of three women they claim to suspect of possessing marijuana. In one video, a
woman is seen bent over and grimacing as an off camera police officer conducts
the search. Shortly before this search, a male officer explains to the woman
that he is calling a female officer over "because I ain't about to get up
close and personal with your woman areas."
The
Texas police officers involved have been fired and charged for sexual assault.

Python Escapes from Pet Shop and Strangles Two Chilren in Their Sleep [PHOTOS]
Two
children aged five and seven were killed after a giant python escaped from a
pet store and strangled them to death while they were asleep.
The
tragic incident took place in New Brunswick city of Campbellton, Canada when
the brothers Connor and Noah Barth were sleeping in their room.
The
16-foot African Rock Python, which lived in a pet store below their apartment,
escaped from its cage and slid upstairs inside the boy's room through the
ventilation ducts and crept onto the ceiling.
The
boys had come to stay for the night with Jean-Claude Savoie, owner of the
Reptile Ocean pet store which houses exotic animals, including crocodiles and
tarantulas. The children belonged to Savoie's best friend Mandy Trecartin.

Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has been ranked as the best university in Nigeria
and the eighth in Africa.
This
was revealed in the latest webometric ranking conducted by a world renowned
research council, Cybermetrics Lab, which is based in Spain.
Kiyoandfilo learnt
that in the list of ten best universities in Arica, South African universities
occupies the first to third position; they also held on to the fifth, sixth,seventh
and ninth position. Meanwhile, Makerere University of Uganda occupies the
fourth position, while Cairo University of Egypt is the tenth best university
in Africa.
Auchi
Polytechnic, University of Ibadan and University of Lagos ranked 23, 24 and 25
in Africa, while University of Ghana ranked 18.
10yrs old Nigerian girl makes FORBES Magazine history
Ten
year-old Nigerian girl Zuriel Oduwole has made history as the youngest person
ever to be interviewed in Forbes, the global iconic magazine title.
The
interview with the award winning documentary film maker, conference speaker and
writer is featured in the August 2013 edition of Forbes Africa.
Touted
by some as the next Larry King, and ARISE News at the next Oprah Winfrey,
Oduwole is reportedly committed to Rebrand Africa by showing the positive
things in about the continent, and making the case for education the Girl Child
in Africa and Emerging Markets.
As
an invited guest to the recent African Union 50th anniversary celebrations in
Ethiopia, she has in her quest of pursuing her goal interviewed leading African
business, political, and sports personalities, including eight current African
Presidents, Africa’s richest person, Aliko Dangote and Tennis super stars –
Venus and Serena Williams.
Zuriel
(which is Hebrew for God is my Rock) believes if she can walk a mile, then
there are girls who on seeing her work and progress made, would walk a mile and
half.
That,
she believes is one simple way to inspire the African Girl Child, and show the
world the need to educate the continents often forgotten Girl Child, of which
Zuriel is one.
Emulate James Ibori – Pastor Tells Nigerians
Even
in former Governor James Onanefe Ibori’s absence, his home town, Oghara, Delta
state, was agog all through Sunday as his admirers, political followers and
associates gathered to mark his 55th birthday in grand style. The celebration
began with a Thanksgiving Church service at the Baptist Church,
Oghara,
where the Pastor, Rev Iweh Godspower, challenged the congregation, to emulate
Ibori, who though was not in the church, had attracted the large crowd to both
the church and the Oghara town to celebrate his birthday in his absence because
of the sheer force of his personality.
What
is that aspect of Ibori’s personality that could attract such a mammoth crowed
which filled the church and overflowed outside, he asked. He answered his own

Beverly Ride another housemate, Bimp in a Jacuzzi [VIDEO]
Nigeria’s
BBA8 rep, Beverly is surely ‘enjoying the life of her head’ – aside Angelo, it
seems she also feels something for Bimp.
Last
night, Beverly waited for Angelo to exit the Jacuzzi before she jumped on Bimp
and started riding and grinding.
The
Chasemates were in a Jacuzzi for a round of conversation and laughter, and then
Angelo decided to call it a night and head to bed. As soon as he disappeared
into the kitchen, Beverly playfully pounced on Bimp and started gyrating on him
like a cat in heat. All Bimp could do was just smile sheepishly as she gave him
a hearty, albeit brief show.

a board member of the Osun State Arts and Culture Council.

of Ila, Adetokunbo Abolarin, as Chairman. Other members are Chief Esuleke and

Whitney Houston’s mom writes open letter to the singer’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina
Whitney
Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown and the late singer's mother, Cissy
Houston, haven't been on the best terms lately.
Ever
since Houston's book "Remembering Whitney" was published in January,
Brown has been keeping her distance from her grandmother, calling the book
(which details Whitney's drug abuse, problems with ex-husband Bobby Brown and
gay relationship rumors) "disrespectful," according to The Hollywood
Reporter.
Now,
Houston is trying to mend fences, though in a very public way. She released an
open letter to the press and addressed Bobbi’s engagement to Nick Gordon.

Olamide Parts Ways With Manager Tony Nwakalor
Rapper
Olamide has reportedly dropped manager Tony Nwakalor.
Reports
on the internet claim that the YBNL chief was dissatisfied with Tony Nwakolor’s
dedication to his career, with the latter reportedly paying more time to D’banj
who he also manages.
He
is now reportedly being manged by a female who goes by the name of Racheal.
Nwakalor
who now runs 1805 Entertainment and Olamide started working together in August,
2011 after the rapper stopped working with his former manager, Toni Payne.
NEWS UPDATE: 35 Die as Nigerian Army and Boko Haram Clash
At
least 35 people have been killed in two separate gun battles between Nigerian
security forces and Islamist sect Boko Haram in northeast Borno state, the army
said on Monday.
Boko
Haram gunmen on Sunday attacked a police base in Bama, a town close to the
Cameroon border that has been frequently hit by violence in recent months.
"Troops
have successfully repelled Boko Haram terrorist attacks on a police base in
Bama ... on 4 August," said military spokesman Sagir Musa.
Musa
said one policeman and 17 members of Boko Haram were killed during the
fighting, while two soldiers were injured.
He
said four trucks, three motorbikes, dozens of explosive devices, three
rocket-propelled grenades, 10 AK47 rifles and over 100 rounds of ammunition
were recovered from the Islamists.
Boko
Haram members also attacked a military base in the town of Malam Fatori,
triggering a gun battle that left two soldiers and 15 of its members dead, Musa
said.

TOUCHING: Couple weds with two-year-old dying son as best man [VIDEO]
Just
two years old, the best man, Logan, is the son of the bride and groom,
Christine Swidorsky and Sean Stevenson. The pair, who also have a one-year-old
daughter together, wanted to share their special day with Logan, who is sick
with a rare genetic disease and has been given just weeks to live.

is our dream come true. All our family together and we’re all together

After
months of speculation since Matt Smith announced that he was exiting the
long-running British show Doctor Who, the BBC has announced the latest actor
who will be taking on the role. In a live television announcement, with several
previous stars on hand, it was revealed that Peter Capaldi will be portraying
the newest incarnation of The Doctor.
Capaldi,
55 is a Scottish actor best known as Doctor Malcolm Tucker from BBC comedy ‘The
Thick of It’.
Capaldi,
who is the 12th actor to play the Doctor, said he was filming a BBC adaptation
of The Three Musketeers in Prague when he found out.
“I
had my phone on silent so I missed the call,” he said.
It
was his agent, who greeted him with the phrase “Hello Doctor”.
“I
started to laugh and haven't stopped laughing since,” Capaldi added.
Police arrest 3 for hurriedly burying an 18 year old boy
Police in Ondo State have arrested three persons for hurriedly burying an 18 year old boy, Sanmi Kehinde who allegedly shot himself dead with his father’s gun.
Kehinde
reportedly shot himself last Wednesday with his father’s dane gun at Oriokuta
community in Akoko South East council area of Ondo State.
The Police
image maker in the state, Wole Ogodo said the family of the deceased did not
make any formal report to the police before they hurriedly buried him.
Ogodo
said detectives in the state police have commenced investigation to
unravel the circumstance that could lead to the death of the teenager.
He
said the report of the autopsy is still being awaited by the police.
According
to him: “Immediately the incident happened neither the family nor the neighbours
reported the case to the police before they went ahead to bury the deceased,
that is why the police arrested some people on the incident.
