according to a players' union release. He is also the highest ever paid player for

Freddie Ljungberg record of $1.3million at Seattle Sounders as highest paid
player ever in the club history in 2009/2010 season. According to a statement
by MLS players' union, Martins is on the basic wage of $1.6million per season
and earn guaranteed compensation fee of $1.725million.

and $4.333million as his guaranteed compensation. Second on the list is
ex-Arsenal star Thierry Henry, who earns $3.75million and a guaranteed compensation
