Fani-Kayode: Jonathan Will Split Nigeria if He Loses Election in 2015

Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, Monday said the way the President Goodluck Jonathan's administration was going and the threats from different quarters to destroy Nigeria if the president does not win election in 2015 was a pointer that Jonathan would attempt to split the country if he fails to win 2015 general election based on the way he had succeeded in causing a division in Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF).
Fani-Kayode, who made this known in Minna when he visited the Niger State Governor, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu for 'consultation,' said there was a clear indication that should Jonathan lose the election in 2015, he would plot for the division of the country.
The former minister stated that it was obvious that the president was a divide and rule president, adding that if the president was not the mastermind of the NGF crisis, why would he be backing a fraction of the NGF, despite that the faction did not win the election?
"It is only in Nigeria that a loser with the backing of the presidency can declare himself the winner leading to the splitting of NGF. This is a pre-requisite for 2015 when the president is defeated, he will declare himself the same way as it happened in NGF and try to split the country the same way of the NGF," he said.

The former minister, who until recently was a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), warned that the retention of power by the PDP in 2015 would spell doom for the country and predicted that "we may never recover from it."
He condemned the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman, Chief Tony Aneineh's suggestion that there would be automatic tickets for the president and governors, saying it was undemocratic, unacceptable and dangerous for Nigeria.
"The situation where the PDP BoT chairman would suggest that there should be no primaries within the party to pick presidential and governorship candidates, thereby awarding these candidates with automatic tickets is undemocratic.
"This is the sort of thing that can only happen in the Nazi Germany, Socialist Russia and Communist China. It does not happen anywhere else and now PDP wants to introduce that type of system in Nigeria. It is unacceptable and should not be allowed.
"It will suicidal if we still trust this country to PDP in 2015. The party and the administration have failed in all sectors. It failed to address the economic, socio and political problems of the country. 6,000 Nigerians have been killed by Boko Haram in the last two years and this administration has no solution to the security challenges. We owe our future the duty to flush the PDP out come 2015," Fani-Kayode stated.
He added that he had to leave the PDP, when he realised that they could not salvage the party and the country from within, adding that he would have remained in the PDP if respected people like former president Olusegun Obasanjo, General Ibrahim Babangida and the Niger State governor could do anything to salvage it.

According to him, these people were incapacitated as they were also subjects to attacks and threats, which he said, was the order of the day in the PDP.
