Almost
three months after the dastardly murder of the former Kwara State Police
Commissioner Chinwike Asadu in Enugu, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed
Abubakar Wednesday declared that seven persons suspected to have been involved
in the murder have been arrested, while efforts were being made to track down
others still on the run.
The
late Asadu, who was until his death the CP of Kwara State command of the police
force, was murdered on March 2, 2013 at his Amorji Nike residence, Enugu East
Local Government Area of Enugu State.

IG spoke in Enugu when he received a total of 100 sedans and Hilux vans fully
equipped with security and communication gadgets from the Enugu State Governor

said following the confessions made by the seven suspects, the police are on
the trail of other collaborators in the murder, disclosing that the seven
persons had already been arraigned in court.
“We
have arrested seven of those behind the killing of CP Chinwike Asadu; his
killing was indeed a sad incident and that's why when I visited the family
after the incident, I made a promise that we shall stop at nothing to get those
behind that dastardly act.
“I
am glad to tell Nigerians that of those who took part in the killing, seven
have been arrested and arraigned before a court. They include, Ogechukwu Uzoh,
Ogechukwu Nnadi, Ugwuoke Obiora, Okwuosa Anthony, Chukwudi Enete, David Elvis
Aja and Amobi Nnamchi.
“These
are the seven persons charged for the murder. Aside the killing of the CP, they
also confessed to killing other innocent souls and were involved in several
other acts of criminality,” he added, but refused to give further details on
the motive of the suspects when they killed the CP.ullivan Chime.
