Police quiz cop caught demanding ₦10,000 bribe

Punch: The Anambra State Police Command on Wednesday said it had begun questioning the policeman attached to one of its divisions in Onitsha, caught on video demanding a bribe of ₦10,000 from a motorist.

The state conmmand’s Police Public Relations Officer, Emeka Chukwuemeka, who spoke with our correspondent on the telephone, said the outcome of the investigation would be made public as soon as it was concluded.

Chukwuemeka, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said the manner the video was shot made it easy for the authorities to identify the policeman in question.

The police spokesman, who assured members of the public that the policeman would be made to face the full wrath of the law if found guilty, said the police would not condone any acts of corruption.

Mother and Son Graduate Together With PhDs! {PHOTOS}

Vickie McBride gave birth to her son at the tender age of 13, but that did not deter her from earning her PhD – or his, for that matter.

Recently, Vickie and her son, Maurice, walked across the stage at a graduate ceremony in Minneapolis, Minnesota and were handed their doctorate degrees from Capella University, WRDW-TV Augusta 12 reports.

Given their journey, Maurice said he could not have ever imagined the day he would earn such a high academic honor. “Never in a thousand, million, trillion years [did I expect to get my PhD],” Maurice said. “The thought of becoming a doctor anyone was far fetched.”

 “I never thought I would get chance to see my mother walk across the stage and then she turned around and saw me walk across the stage,” he said.

7-year-old girl steals iPhone under the watchful eyes of the ‘mother’ {VIDEO}

In a CCTV footage posted on youtube, a 7-year-old girl was seen stealing an iPhone from a customer in a restaurant in Norwood, Johannesburg, South Africa, with the consent of a woman, presumed to be her mother.

According to reports, the stolen phone belongs to a 17-year-old girl.

In the video, four women and a child were seen walking into the restaurant and later separated into two groups. Thereafter the little pilferer was given the signal by the two women she was with, and promptly stole the iPhone. As soon as the phone was stolen, they left without ordering anything.

Gospel singer, Don Moen is so elated at the moment. His oldest child Melissa and son-in-law, who also double as his manager Jesse Sproul, just had their first child, thus making Don Moen a grandfather.

The music-evangelist announced on his facebook page that he is now a grand-father. “It’s official! Our first grandchild!! Sweet Stella!”

Tallest Hotel in West Africa Unveiled by Gov Fashola in Lagos [PHOTOS]

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos today unveiled the tallest hotel in West Africa, Intercontinental Lagos, built at a cost of ₦30 billion.

The hotel located at Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria is a 23-storey building containing 358 rooms and 37 suites and a Presidential suite.

The Intercontinental Lagos, a subsidiary of the Intercontinental Hotel Group, IHG, is owned by the Milan Group.

Unveiling the 5-star hotel, Fashola said the edifice would surely boost the hospitality and tourism industry in the state, while urging other entrepreneurs to look inward and invest their money in hotels and public utilities such as roads.
