I'm Finally Divorcing My Cheating Husband – Toni Braxton’s Sister
"Braxton
Family Values" star Trina Braxton can't un-break her marriage ... the
reality star finally pulled the trigger on her divorce from philandering husband
Grabriel Adrian-Solis, TMZ has learned.
Toni
Braxton's sister filed divorce docs in Georgia court claiming her marriage was
irretrievably broken. Trina and Gabriel tied the knot in August 2003, separated
in March 2013, and are currently living in separate pads.
It's
not exactly a shock -- the duo suffered from a slew of marital problems,
including infidelity. Gabriel has admitted to cheating on Trina with numerous
women in the past and Trina admitted to cheating on Gabriel -- all of which
played out on their reality TV show.
As
for the nuts and bolts of it all ... Trina says she'll try to work out a
financial agreement with her estranged husband to divvy up their assets (and
debts) as calmly as possible. She's asking for a total divorce, claiming
there's no hope for reconciliation.
I don’t have any intention to probe Obasanjo’s administration – President Jonathan
The
Presidency has issued a statement to address speculations raised in the media yesterday
that President Goodluck Jonathan intends to probe the Obasanjo Administration.
Here
is the press hand-out.
The
Presidency is constrained to state once again that there is no truth whatsoever
to rehashed reports in the media today that President Goodluck Jonathan intends
to order a probe of the Obasanjo Administration because of the former
President’s “constant” criticisms of the Federal Government.
President
Jonathan remains fully focused on the urgent tasks of assuring peace, security
and stability across the country to create the right conditions for rapid
socio-economic development and will not be distracted from this objective by
futile attempts to drive a wedge between him and other respected elders and
leaders of his party.
The
President has nothing but the greatest respect for Chief Obasanjo’s very
notable contributions to national growth and development over many years and
far from taking offence or seeking retaliation, will always welcome objective
criticism and advice from the very highly-regarded elder statesman.
What
is more, President Jonathan regards his Administration as a continuation of the
unbroken chain of PDP-led governments started by Chief Obasanjo in 1999 which
have worked tirelessly to entrench democratic governance and achieve rapid
socio-economic growth in the country.
Rather
than order a pointless probe of his predecessors, he will continue to do his
utmost best to build on the solid foundations for national progress laid under
previous PDP administrations.
Speculations
and suggestions of an impending probe of the Obasanjo Administration by
President Jonathan are therefore nonsensical and should be dismissed by all
right-thinking Nigerians as the product of the fertile imagination of
mischievous political jobbers.
Stolen Range Rover Sport: I will get a replacement soon — Pasuma
It
is no more news that Fuji star, Wasiu Alabi, also known as Pasuma, who doubles
as a Globacom ambassador, was attacked by armed robbers last week Monday and
his Range Rover sport, metallic silver colour was snatched by robbers in
Ahmadiyya area of Abule Egba, Lagos State.
Barely
one week after the sad experience, Pasuma has said he would not lose sleep over
it as he would find a replacement soon to shame his enemies.
According
to Pasuma, the robber forced themselves into his car and drove him and his
aides to Itele, a town in the outskirt of Lagos.
Paso’s
publicist, Afolabi, told R in a mail that it was ridiculous for anyone to say
the musician knew the robbers as “Pasuma is a hardworking musician whose
ambassadorial status has added to his hard-earned image and goodwill.
Although
he would not answer when asked if the SUV was insured, he said media men should
always check their facts before putting words in print.
“Pasuma
has moved on since. He will not be deterred by the loss of a car. Right now, he
is more concerned with his music,”he told R.

terrorists camps.

that other common items found by troops in the terrorists camps also included
syringes, test tubes and hand gloves usually found in the rubbles of most of
the destroyed camps.

I Won’t Quit Acting When I Turn Pastor – Omar Sheriff
Ghanaian
actor, Omar Sheriff Captan was in the news last week when he confirmed he would
soon be ordained a pastor.
“I
have so far preached at a few churches including Ofori Amponsah’s church as
well as the International Central Gospel Church and the responses have been
fantastic. I am mostly at Achimota forest doing some wonderful work of God and
I believe God will take me far” Omar said.
Meanwhile, Omar’s recent passion spurred his fans to ask if the former Tinsel’s star
would quit acting for pastoral calling. In a recent chat with News-One, the actor says he won’t give up acting, rather would combine being a shepherd in the Lord’s
vineyard and acting.
“I
am not quitting acting. I will act while I also do God’s work. I will do it hand
in hand,” he said.
Good
luck to the Evangelist.
Why I rarely make public comments - Adeboye
General
Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has
explained that he is careful in making public comments to avoid mistakes.
In
an interview with Haaretz newspaper during a visit to Jerusalem, Adeboye said
he had shied away from speaking out on national issues in order to avoid
influencing people in the wrong way.
He
also said he was aware of the enormous responsibility on his shoulders as the
leader of a global church with millions of members.
'At
times it's frightening. In Africa you have a saying, the man who is carrying a
basket of eggs must walk gently … whatever mistakes you make, you affect
destinies,' he said.
Adeboye
stated that his transformation from a Mathematics lecturer at the University of
Lagos to a pastor was a divine call, noting that he has a mandate to preach
peace everywhere he goes.
Boko Haram paid us N5,000 each to burn schools – Kid suspects
Some
kid suspects released by military authorities in Maiduguri on Friday said the
Boko Haram sect paid them N5,000 each to burn primary schools and spy on
soldiers.
They
were among 23 women and 35 children released to the governors of Borno and Yobe
states by the Commander, 21 Armoured Brigade, Maiduguri, Brig-Gen. R.O
Bamigboye, on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Sa’ad Ibrahim.
The
children, whose ages range between nine and 15 years, said they were given kegs
of petrol by Boko Haram leaders and sent to burn schools in both states.
Borno
State Governor, Kashim Shettima, government officials and journalists listened
in bewilderment as the children narrated how they were used by the extremist
sect to burn schools and spy on soldiers.
One
of them said they were taken to the Yobe State capital, Damaturu, and told to
spy on soldiers attached to the Joint Task Force and report back to the Boko
Haram commanders.
Appeal Court orders NDLEA not to pay Baba Suwe N25m
The
Court of Appeal in Lagos, has overturned the ruling of a high court and quashed
the N25million damages awarded to Nollywood actor, Babatunde Omidina, more
popular as Baba Suwe.
The
appellate court, in its judgment read by Justice Rita Pemu, held that the NDLEA
has the right to keep the respondent in custody while investigation was being
carried out.
Justice
Pemu also declared that the Lagos High Court lacked the jurisdiction to
entertain, in the first place, the fundamental human rights suit filed by Lagos
lawyer and rights activist, Bamidele Aturu, on behalf of the comedian. She
added that it was only the Federal High Court that had the right to adjudicate
on the matter, being a drug-related case.
She
then held that the award of the damage sum by the trial judge was “excessive,
unrealistic and perverse.”
Justice
Pemu said, “The constitution stipulates the right to personal liberty. The
result of the CT Scan carried out on the respondent was in consonance with the
appellant’s suspicion.

Alamieyeseigha’s Property worth over $700,000 Forfeited Through US Justice Department
A
forfeiture judgment was executed today against real property with an estimated
value of more than $700,000 in Rockville, Md., that had been purchased with
corruption proceeds traceable to Diepreye Solomon Peter Alamieyeseigha, a
former Governor of Bayelsa State, Nigeria, announced Acting Assistant Attorney
General Mythili Raman of the Criminal Division and U.S. Immigration and Customs
Enforcement (ICE) Director John Morton.
“Foreign
officials who think they can use the United States as a stash-house are sorely
mistaken,” said Acting Assistant Attorney General Raman. “Through the Kleptocracy Initiative, we stand
with the victims of foreign official corruption as we seek to forfeit the
proceeds of corrupt leaders’ illegal activities.”
“This
investigation was initiated by ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI)
Asset Identification & Removal Group (AIRG) in Baltimore, in an effort to
recover the criminal proceeds from Diepreye Solomon Peter Alamieyeseigha’s
assets, whose shell companies were convicted of money laundering offenses in
Nigeria,” said ICE Director Morton.
“HSI’s AIRG will continue working with the Department of Justice to seek
to recover illicit proceeds gained through foreign corruption and to protect
the U.S. financial system from being utilized by criminals.”
Yvonne Nelson Lost Her Temper while filming 'One Night in Vegas' In the US
While filming the movie 'One Night in Vegas', directed by John Uche, Yvonne Nelson displayed a high level of insubordination that literally brought the production to a halt. As portrayed by Washington Post, her attitude angered the Director who also reacted “No one can tell me what to do on my set; I’ve directed bigger actors than you.”
Washington
Post captured Yvonne’s unruly behaviour in a recent article that featured the
movie 'One Night in Vegas' – the movie, which starred Yvonne Nelson, Jimmy
Jean-Louis and John Dumelo among others was shot in the US.
Here
is a piece of the article;
A
drop-dead beautiful Ghanaian actress is yelling at the director. Her voice —
with that slightly British Ghanaian accent — echoes across the polished marble
floors and bounces off the baby grand inside a Montgomery County mansion that
has been turned into a movie set.
Cameras
have stopped rolling. Actors lean against the bay windows overlooking the
swimming pool.
“I’m
human!” shouts the movie star, Yvonne Nelson. “I can complain if I want to
complain. I am not a robot.”
“No
one can tell me what to do on my set!” warns the director, John Uche, a Nigerian
who lives in Upper Marlboro. “I’ve directed bigger actors than you.”
The
actress spins and storms up a circular staircase, retreating to her bedroom
lair and halting production.
This
could be a disaster for this “Nollywood” movie. Filming has to be completed in
three weeks. If the star quits, thousands of dollars are down the tube. The
other actors — some of the biggest names in Africa have flown in from Nigeria
and Ghana — will have wasted a trip. And the producer, Koby Maxwell, an
award-winning Ghanaian musician turned movie maker, will lose investors’ money.

Minimum wage: Teachers in Edo, Ogun, Borno, 8 others begin strike tomorrow
Primary
and Secondary school teachers in 11 states of the federation will commence an
indefinite strike from tomorrow in a move against non-payment of the 27.5 per
cent Teachers’ Enhanced Salary Scale (TESS) and N18,000 Minimum Wage to them.
National
Executive Council (NEC) of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), following an
emergency meeting in Abuja on Thursday, directed all the teachers in the
affected states to embark on the “painful” indefinite strike action.

11 states are Cross River, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Ogun, Edo, Kogi, Niger, Borno, Benue,
Zamfara and Sokoto.
NUT
President, Comrade Michael Alogba Olukoya, who briefed newsmen on the outcome

payment of these long outstanding packages for the teachers.
He
said the respective state wings of the union had been sufficiently mobilised
towards a strike to restore teachers’ integrity and honour.
He
described the action of some of these state governors as derelict, unpatriotic
and self-serving.
