Gangnam Style sensation PSY cracks jokes at Harvard

Gangnam Style sensation PSY cracks jokes at Harvard

Kiyo: South Korean rapper PSY was welcomed to Harvard University on Thursday night by hundreds of screaming and shouting students and fans, as the "Gangnam Style" star participated in a conversation inside an ornate church dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives in World War I.
PSY began addressing students and faculty by noting that his presence at the Ivy League school "is so weird."
He recalled spending four years studying management at Boston University while marvelling at Harvard from afar. He joked about his academic performance while at school in Boston, saying he was known by a nickname of WWF -- which, he said, stands for withdrawal, withdrawal, failure.
The pop star, whose real name is Park Jae-sang, also joked that he's heard that he is the first person to make a speech at Harvard without a written script.
Harvard professor of Korean History Carter Eckert says the discussion is looking at PSY as a modern global digital culture phenomenon.

Filo: Psy has proved “you are not a failure until you say so”; only last month, he was honoured at the Tribeca Film Festival at New York University.

Small helicopter crashes in downtown Honolulu, USA

Kiyo: A small helicopter lost power and came crashing down on a busy downtown Honolulu Street Wednesday afternoon, but no one was seriously injured, authorities said.

The helicopter was on a photography flight when it lost power, forcing a crash landing on Fort Street, which is home to a large apartment complex and Hawaii Pacific University. The area is usually full of university students and downtown office workers, and has a lot of vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Prophet T.B. Joshua’s church service caused unprecedented traffic in Accra
T.B. Joshua
Kiyo: A church programme by the founder and leader of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet T.B. Joshua in Accra Tuesday has caused an unprecedented traffic in the capital and virtually brought vehicular movement to a halt.
Thousands of worshipers flocked the church on the Spintex Road to be a part of the historic visit of the popular man of God who has millions of followers across the world.
As early as 2am Tuesday, the road to the church was choked with vehicles as people travel from as far as Benin into Ghana to see the Nigerian prophet. The situation attracted huge media attention.
However, some journalists who went to the area to report on the situation motorists describe as "chaotic" were detained for several hours by security personnel of the church.
Their crime, Emmanuel Anteh, a journalist with Joy News on Multi-TV, narrated to Myjoyonline.com, was that they did not seek permission before filming the chaotic situation at the church premises.
Due to the historic church service, the entire Spintex enclave has been swamped by a fleet of cars, causing heavy and unbearable traffic on an already traffic prone road.
Although the service was billed to start at 7am, reports say people started arriving as early as 2am.

Filo: A ‘prophet’ has come to town; what do you expect?
