Bomb Blast in Boston




Kiyo: Boston police said there was a third explosion Monday near the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library after twin blasts at the city’s annual marathon killed at
least two people. “There was a third explosion at the JFK library,” Police Chief Ed Davis told a press conference. He said he did not know of anyone being wounded in the third blast, or whether any of the explosions were part of a terrorist attack.

Kiyo: Coming on the heels of Saturday show of shame, the media and social networks are inundated with all manner of vituperations and backlash, noticeably are some not too good comments targeted at Solomon Akiyesi’s colleague, Lancelot Imasuen who was also at the wedding. However, Lancelot in a bid to defend his presence said he was just an invited guest not the wedding planner. “For sure many are the affliction of the righteous ,,,,,but God delivers him from them all, see how I pay a wonderful prize for FAME, an invited guest to a wedding suddenly becomes the chief wedding planner,,,” he said.
In a related development, Akiyesi has deactivated his facebook account; like they say ‘if you can’t take the heat, don’t go near the kitchen’

Delta to get additional 100 police divisions




Kiyo: Delta State Police Commissioner, Mr. Ikechukwu Aduba, has said that additional 100 police divisional headquarters would be created to check the wave of armed robbery, kidnapping and other anti-social vices in the state.
Aduba, in Ughelli, while commissioning the perimeter fencing project embarked upon by the Ughelli Area Command, said the police was equal to the task of policing the state.

Kiyo: Snoop Lion and Ke$ha walked on stage at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night smoking what appeared to be a cannabis joint.
They passed it back and forth during their presentation and left it up to the audience to decide what they were really puffing.
While it was difficult to tell whether it was marijuana or tobacco in the spliff, 26-year-old Ke$ha's facial expressions seem to suggest the former.

Filo: Look at Ke$ha’s eyes! This is a “No”, irrespective of what they were smoking, considering the fact that majority of the audience are minors.

Fake Chinese condoms hit Ghanaian market, Nigerians Beware

Filo: Ghana’s food and drug regulatory body, Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), on Monday alerted the public that it had seized a large consignment of poor quality and substandard BE SAFE condoms imported from China.
The packaging of the product has no manufacturer’s name and address but only an inscription- Manufactured in P.R.C.
The FDA in a press release said seven batches of the Be Safe condoms failed to meet quality standards when tested at the FDA’s Medical Devices Laboratories.
The condoms were found to contain visible holes and burst easily under pressure and thus can easily break during sex.

Kiyo: Calling on NAFDAC to be on alert, we have different types of Be Safe condoms in the market.

Nine best pupils can’t write their names – Commissioner

Kiyo: Commissioner for Education, Akwa Ibom State, Mrs. Eunice Thomas, has said that nine pupils from public primary schools in the state, who had distinctions in First School Leaving Certificate examinations, were unable to write their names after a further test was conducted on them.
Thomas said the revelation was made when the governor, Mr. Godswill Akpabio, directed all heads of schools to bring the best pupils from FSLC examination, one in each of the 31 local government areas of the state, to a designated school, where they were re-examined.
She said, “We conducted a pre-test and say let’s introduce subjective questions, and not objective questions that one person will stand in the exam hall and just call out A or B to the candidates and they all will mark the correct answer.
“At the end, we realised that the child that scored 100 per cent could not score five per cent”

Filo: The teachers are not left out, Mrs Eunice also said “The state government conducted an Aptitude Test using the same syllabus for the students to test the teachers; honestly 60 per cent of the teachers were unable to pass the examination”

Electricity consumers to pay ₦50,000 for pre-paid metres




Kiyo: According to feelers from the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, effective April 25th electricity consumers are expected to cough out between ₦25,000 and ₦50,000 for pre-paid metres for the single phase and three phase models, respectively, under the new Credited Advance Pay for Metering Implementation, (CAPMI) scheme.
CAPMI became necessary following complaints by consumers about poor electricity service delivery in the face of continued estimated billing by Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN.
Under CAPMI, the Commission also disclosed that five Distribution Companies, DISCOs, will be used for the pilot scheme. They include Eko, Ibadan, Benin, Kano and Abuja DISCOs.

Filo: As if pre-paid metres would guarantee steady power supply, besides we’ve always paid for metres before the government declared it was‘free’.

Bras Make Breasts Sag, 15-Year Study Concludes























Kiyo: Wearing a bra does more harm than good - it does nothing to reduce back pain and weakens the muscles that hold up the breasts, resulting in greater breast sagging, Jean-Denis Rouillon, a sports science expert from the University of Besancon, France, reported after a 15-year study.
Rouillon says that the main conclusion from the preliminary results of his "marathon experiment" is that the bra is a false necessity.
In an interview with France Info (radio), Professor Rouillon said:
"Medically, physiologically, anatomically - breasts gain no benefit from being denied gravity. On the contrary, they get saggier with a bra."

She said: 'From the first moment I met Phil I felt butterflies and we just clicked. We are so much in love and our sex life is great - I'm certainly not too old for that.

1. Denzel Washington was born in Mount Vernon, New York, on December 28, 1954. He is the son of a Pentecostal minister and a beauty shop owner and has two siblings.

3. Denzel first studied journalism at Fordham University but then discovered an interest in acting. He made his feature film debut in the comedy A Carbon Copy (1981) and was cast on the hit TV medical drama St. Elsewhere (1982-8).
