DO YOU KNOW? Today's Feature is OMONI OBOLI

1. Omoni Sophie Oboli, the second of two girls was born on the 22nd of April 1978 in Benin City, the then Capital of Bendel State, Nigeria; though she hails from Mosogar, a town in Delta State.

2. Her primary education was at the Delta Steel Company Primary School 3, Ovwian-Aladja. Then she moved on to attend the Delta Steel Company Technical High School (DSC THS) between 1989 and 1994 for her secondary education. Interestingly, she held the positions of Head Girl (’94 set DSC THS), President Literary & Debating Society, Editor, Press Club & President, French Club all in her secondary school.

3. Between 1995 and 1999, Omoni studied Foreign Languages (majoring in French) at the University of Benin, Nigeria.

4. Omoni, who started acting at a very tender age, got her first professional movie role in 1996 in a movie titled ‘Bitter Encounter’, where she played the role of a secretary. After that she featured in Shame, before finally playing the lead role in ‘Not my will’.

5. On October 28, 2000, Omoni got married to Nnamdi Oboli whom she actually met on a movie set some years back; this was immediately after graduating from University of Benin (UNIBEN). Their union is blessed with three lovely boys – Tobe, Gozi and Chizi

DO YOU KNOW: Today's Feature is ABRANTIE DANIEL AMAKYE DEDE


1. Abrantie Daniel Amakye Dede was born on January 5th, 1958 at Agogo in the Ashanti Region of Ghana; He is the youngest of nine siblings.

2. The young Daniel attended Agogo St. Augustine’s Middle School and completed in 1972.

3. Amakye Dede began his career in 1973 when he joined the Kumapim Royals as a composer and vocalist. Led by the legendary highlife singer, Akwasi Ampofo Agyei, they had hits like 'Abebi Bewua Eso', 'Wanware Me A', 'Odo Mani Agyina' and 'Ohohoo Batani'.
 Amakye Dede later moved to Nigeria where he had his hit 'Jealousy go shame'.

4. He is one of Ghana’s premier hi-life artistes and is affectionately called ‘Iron Boy’ or ‘Abrantie’ which means Gentleman, a name he got from the making of his first record with his mentor Akwasi Ampofo Agyei in 1975.

DO YOU KNOW?: Today's Feature is WILL SMITH




1. Will, the second of four children, was born Willard Christopher Smith in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 25, 1968, to Willard, a refrigeration company owner and Caroline, a school administrator.

2. Smith began rapping at age 12, emulating heroes like Grandmaster Flash but tinging his rhymes with a comic element that would later become his trademark. At 16, Smith met a DJ at a party by the name of Jeff Townes. The pair became friends, and the duo DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince was born.

3. In 1988, DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince continued their success with the album He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper featuring the radio-friendly singles "Parents Just Don't Understand," "Brand New Funk," and "Nightmare on My Street." The album won the first ever Grammy Award for a Rap Performance.

4. Will Smith speaks fluent Spanish

5. Will's first day of acting was the opening episode of hit sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in 1990. He says of the show's first season: "I was trying so hard. I would memorise the entire script, then I'd be lipping everybody's lines while they were talking. When I watch those episodes, it's disgusting. My performances were horrible."

DO YOU KNOW: Today's Feature is DENZEL WASHINGTON




1. Denzel Washington was born in Mount Vernon, New York, on December 28, 1954. He is the son of a Pentecostal minister and a beauty shop owner and has two siblings.

2. When he was 14, his parents' marriage broke down and he and his older sister were sent away to boarding school.

3. Denzel first studied journalism at Fordham University but then discovered an interest in acting. He made his feature film debut in the comedy A Carbon Copy (1981) and was cast on the hit TV medical drama St. Elsewhere (1982-8).

4. Denzel Washington married actress Pauletta Pearson in 1983; they have four children. Their oldest son, John David, was drafted in 2006 by the NFL's St. Louis Rams. He now plays for the Sacramento Mountain Lions in the United Football League. Their other children are daughter Katia and twins Olivia and Malcolm.

5. Washington grabbed his first of five Oscar nominations for Cry Freedom (1987) as real-life South African apartheid martyr Steve Biko. He won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Glory (1989).

1. Beyonce’s middle name is Giselle, in German, it means ‘Pledge’. The name Beyonce is Tina’s (B’s mother) maiden name

2. When Beyoncé was a child, her father/manager made her run a mile while singing, so she would be able to perform on stage without becoming exhausted.

3. Beyoncé’s mom says her daughter was a lonely kid who played with imaginary friends. “At lunchtime, I’d go to her school and she’d be pushing an empty swing, acting like there was somebody on it,” Tina Knowles told Elle Magazine.

4. Her first group, Destiny’s Child, was put together by her parents in 1990, when Beyonce was just nine.  With all four girls growing up in deeply religious Christian households, the group’s name was taken from the Book of Isaiah – in which destiny and God’s promise to the faithful are a central theme.  Then, in 2005, Destiny’s Child was paid $2 million to perform at the bar Mitzvah of British retail billionaire Philip Green’s 13-year-old son.
