Anthonia Ojo, a Nigerian, was yesterday arrested at the Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) carrying 99 pellets of unknown drugs in her luggage.
Police detained the 25-year-old businesswoman from Abuja as she was about to board an Ethiopian Airlines flight destined for France.
From France, she had planned to travel to Italy where she was scheduled to take another flight to Abuja.
Airports police boss Renatus Chalya told journalists the suspect was arrested after a screening machine detected drug pellets in her luggage.
“We then searched her thoroughly and found that the suspect was carrying four tins stuffed with drugs,” Mr Chalya said.
He said the suspect had stuffed 15 pellets in each of two containers of body lotion while two baby powder bottles were filled with 35 and 34 pellets.
