Britain's
youngest lottery winner, Callie Rogers says she has never been happier after
blowing her £1.9million fortune.
Callie
scooped the jackpot when she was just 16 but frittered the money away on drugs,
booze and cosmetic surgery; becoming so depressed she even attempted suicide
three times.
Ten
years on, the mum-of-three has just £2,000 of her winning left in the bank but
believes she is finally truly happy.
Callie
said: "I can’t believe ten years have passed since I stood holding that
huge cheque. It feels like a lifetime ago.
"I
don't think of myself as a lottery winner - I try to forget the ups and downs
I’ve been through and just feel like a normal person.
"It
was too much money for someone so young. Even if you say your life won’t
change, it does – and often not for the better."
Originally
from a broken home, Callie was living in foster care following a string of rows
with her mum Susan Wilkinson when she won the National Lottery in 2003.
She
had been placed with a kindly couple, Brian and Sheila Holmes, but after her
win she moved out and began spending her winnings.
