I’ll beat Fayemi in any election, Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele boasts

A member of the House of Representatives and Labour Party, LP, governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele has boasted that he has strong political structure and goodwill in the state to defeat the incumbent governor, Kayode Fayemi in any election. Opeyemi declared that the image and popularity of his new party was increasing on daily basis despite its newness in the state.
The lawmaker, who recently decamped from All Progressives Congress, APC, to LP to pursue his governorship ambition, also told his political detractors to refrain from harassment, saying no amount of threats or killings would make him back down on his governorship ambition.
Bamidele, who is representing Ado/Irepodun/Ifelodun Federal Constituency, made the statement in Ado Ekiti, yesterday, during the grand finale of his tour of the 16 local government areas.

The lawmaker stated that the tentacles of LP have spread across the length and breadth of the state, advising those referring to the party as under-dog to have a rethink.
Donating 200 wheel-chairs to the physically challenged across the council areas, Bamidele pledged that certain percentage of employment would be ceded to the group for them to actualise their potentials if he is given the mandate to govern the state.
He said: “This is a mission we must actualise. A race I must pursue to the end to put an end to the era of inconsistent policies and programmes in Ekiti. Ekiti needs serious interventions at this critical time and God has given us the scientific understanding of what the people’s needs are and how to solve them.
“LP is a broad-based coalition of determined people who are ready to bring the needed change to Ekiti. This is not a matter of political parties, but efforts to rescue Ekiti from doldrums.”
Bamidele advised the APC and other interested parties in the impending governorship election to embrace issue-based campaign and disengage from any habit that could bring disrepute to the highly scholastic and respectable people of the state.
