Why Will Smith turned down Django Unchained

Will Smith Smiles

Kiyo: Do you know Will Smith was initially offered the title role in Django Unchained, only to turn it down and see the part eventually go to Jamie Foxx?

Filo: Django Unchained? Ok, that Quentin Tarantino film about black slavery and racism. But why did he reject the role?

Kiyo: According to EW, Smith says “Django wasn’t the lead, so it was like; I need to be the lead"  He also said he pleaded with Quentin Tarantino to let him "kill the bad guy" in the film, but the writer/director stuck with the original plot.

Filo: La wa o, He wants to kill the bad guy, but who really wants to be the bad guy. And they tell us is just acting. That means if I want to feature Will Smith in my film, he must play the lead role.
Pride things or Status things?
