Actress Yvonne Nelson Says She is in love Again
After
all the noise about being a secondary virgin for seven months, it seems Yvonne
has found love again. At least, the days of being single are over – that is, if
she is not trying to put up a publicity stunt.
Based
on Yvonne’s response to a fans tweet, it appears she wants to keep this new
relationship private – how private though?
“I'm so hapi 4 u dear pls mak dis private, it's
ur relationship nat d world relationship,” the fan advised.
And
the actress replied “yes ma'am”
We
wish her well.
I’ve found another love — Ayo Adesanya
Ayo Adesanya is not a new face in Nollywood. She has acted alongside veterans like Regina Askia, Liz Benzon, Ucharia Anunobi and many others. The University of Ibadan graduate of Communications and Language Arts, like many of her peers, ventured into movie production. She spoke with Ajibade Alabi recently on several issues in the industry.
Why acting and not practicing what you studied in school?
I have always liked acting; it is just inborn. Right from my childhood days, I knew I would end up being an actress.
How did you join the industry?
I went for an interview somewhere, where I met Ifeanyi. It was he who invited me for an auditioning, and in that auditioning I was given a waka pass role. That was my first role, and that was how the journey began.

“Tony Tetuila believed in me and stood up for me” – Basket Mouth
Every
great thing starts small – this fact was replayed by comedian Bright Okpocha,
popularly called Basket Mouth in a new book series titled ‘Before I Write a
Book’.
Basket
Mouth, who intends to write a book eventually, shared his experience in this
short story.
Back
stage at the Rothmans Groove tour which held @ TBS in 1998, there I was seated
with the likes of The Plantashun Boiz,Dr. Fresh,Remedies and more…I was just a
young boy trying to weigh his options on what direction to go with his career
as drumming,rapping,producing and comedy were few of my options.
That
night was the 1st time I met Tony Tetuila, one of those humble guys you come
by, he was warm and accommodating considering the obvious fact that I was
nobody in the industry.
Fast
forward a few months later, Comedy had won me over and in the course of my
hustle and journey to where I’m yet to get to, I bumped into Tetuila in
Festac, just about the time his single ‘you don hit my car’ came out.

TB Joshua’s Followers ripped off by Travel Agent Who Collected over ₦13m
According
to a report by the thevoicebw.com, a businessman who is based in Gaborone, the
capital of Botswana has swindled scores of unsuspecting followers of TB Joshua
of over ₦13million.
Ishmael
Segoea, who claimed to be Prophet TB Joshua’s agent, left over 50 pilgrims hoping
to visit Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) broke, confused and stranded
after he collected their hard earned cash for a trip that never materialised.
Despite
several warnings from T.B Joshua through his Emmanuel TV channel for people to
avoid being duped by fraudsters posing as his agents, Segoea managed to collect
a cool P14, 000 (₦ 265,641.60) from each of the 50 pilgrims with the promise of
handling their travel arrangements to Nigeria.
The
money was meant for the purchase of air tickets and accommodation, he told the pilgrims.

During
an interview with MTV News, DJ Khaled popped the question to Nicki Minaj and
even presented her with a 10-karat, radiant-cut ring worth approximately
$500,000.
"Nicki
Minaj, I'm at MTV. I love you. I like you. I want you. I want you to be mine.
I'm here at MTV because it's a worldwide network," he said via video.
"Only reason I'm not telling you this face to face is because I understand
that you're busy. Ima be honest with you, I wanna marry you."
He
went on to say "Nicki Minaj, will you marry me? We got the same symptoms,
we both suffer from success. You out there touring, you're out there hustling,
you're out there making music and you're out there winning. And I
understand."
Though
Nicki has not officially responded to Khaled’s proposal but she actually
retweet the video on her Twitter account.Nigeria Born Rapper Wale Gives University Student $25,000 Scholarship
Olubowale
Victor Akintimehin, popularly known as Wale has literally transformed the life
of a Hampton University student, Lauren Pryor.
The
part two Psychology student won the rapper’s scholarship through a local hip-hop
radio station, 103 JAMZ, which posted the contest on June 18th.
According
to Hampton University News, the female student was on the brink of not
returning to the university due to financial hardship

Rivers
State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has said nobody can stampede him out of the
Peoples Democratic Party.
The
governor also said he did not have to tell President Goodluck Jonathan or
anybody about his ambition before contesting any public office.
Amaechi,
who said he had yet to declare his ambition to contest the Vice-Presidency in
PDP, spoke in an interview monitored on the BBC programme, Hard Talks, on
Thursday.

Recently, Ghanaian actress Emelia Brobbey was alleged to have stolen a bracelet at a shop - Piercings - while on vacation in London and was also reported to have been arrested by the Police.
The
actress who returned to Ghana yesterday debunked the claim; according to her,
five months ago, she went to the UK to deliver and after the delivery, she went
to shop with her baby in a pram.
She
narrated that as she left the shop, shop security approached her that their
detectors had detected that she might have not paid for an item in her pram.
A
bracelet, Emelia Brobbey added, was found in her possession and she was asked
if she was ready to pay for the item and she indicated her preparedness to do so.
Teacher Docked for Impersonating Fashola’s, Aregbesola’s Wives
A
53- year-old teacher on Grade Level 10, Asogbon Victoria Abosede, was Thursday,
arraigned before Lagos Chief Magistrate’s Court One, sitting in Ikeja, for
allegedly impersonating the first lady of Lagos State, Dame Abimbola Fashola.
The
defendant was said to have sent text messages between June and July to the
Chairman of Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area of Lagos by falsely
presenting herself as first lady of Lagos State and obtained N100, 000 from the
chairman.
The
defendant who is facing a 10-count charge of impersonation and fraud, preferred
against her by the Lagos State government, was docked before Chief Magistrate
Eniola Fabamwo.
The
prosecutor, Attorney General of Lagos State, Ade Ipaye, told the court that the
accused committed the alleged crime between the months of June and July 2013,
by also sending text messages to one Gbolahan Khadijat Daudu, who is the
Chairman, Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, Maryland in Ikeja area
of Lagos.
Author Jane Austen to be face of the Bank of England £10 note
Do
you remember the novel ‘Pride and Prejudice’? Well, the the Bank of England has
announced that the author, Jane Austen will become the new face of the £10 note
starting from 2017. Jane would replace Charles Darwin, who has featured on the £10
note since 2000.
This
gesture is in response to critics who say there are not enough women represented
on banknotes.
Just
wondering when the likes of Flora Nwapa, Buchi Emecheta, Adaora Lily Ulasi, Molara
Ogundipe, and others would appear on our currency.

Senate approves takeover of Rivers Assembly – Says Mbu must go
The
Senate, on Thursday, voted that the National Assembly should take over the
legislative powers of the Rivers State House of Assembly, in accordance with
Section11(4) of the 1999 Constitution.
The
lawmakers, after a closed-door session, also urged the state lawmakers
allegedly plotting to unseat embattled Governor Rotimi Amaechi to drop such
plan in the interest of peace and democracy.
The
Senate specifically resolved that “the National Assembly should, as a
matter of urgency, take over the functions and duties of the Rivers State House
of Assembly, pursuant to Section 11, subsection 4 of the 1999
Constitution, pending the resolution of the crisis and restoration of
peace in Rivers State.”

Nigerian Born Nne Ebong Replaces Michael McDonald as Senior VP at ABC Studios
ABC
Studios' senior vice president of drama development, Michael McDonald is
stepping aside from his position to start his own production company, Steams
Castle, at ABC Studios, the company said Tuesday.
McDonald
will be replaced by Nne Ebong, who's being promoted from drama development vice
president to senior vice president, drama development.
The
Nigerian-born has been with ABC studios since 2006; she has overseen the
creative process of series like “Lost,” “Brothers & Sisters” and “The Ghost
Whisperer,” and developed series including “Scandal” and “Revenge.”
Nne
Ebong graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) with writing
degrees from both the School of Cinema-Television and the Annenberg School of
Journalism.

B. Manowe, fondly called Yoko-Ono might not be a popular name in the make
believe industry but she has earned herself a name as the first Botswana
actress to land an acting role in Africa’s largest movie industry, Nollywood.
Yoko-Ono
was asked in a recent interview how she managed to penetrate the highly competitive
movie industry.
The
Dramatic Arts student said it started in March this year when she was in
Johannesburg, and then she met Nollywood’s actor, producer and director, Desmond
Elliot.
“I could recognize Elliot’s
face from the movies I always watched. I guess I was at the right place at the
right time and I immediately asked if I could meet him and surprisingly I was
given that opportunity. As soon as I made my way through I knew I had to use
that chance to sell myself. Surprisingly, he seemed impressed and said I had a
face for TV and we kept in touch ever since. He sponsored me to come to Nigeria
for a movie production and that is how I landed the role,” she
said.
Kiyoandfilo
gathered that the actress plays the part of an international employer called
‘Betty’ in a new movie titled ‘Finding Mercy’; the film stars Desmond Elliot,
Rita Dominic, Chioma Akpotha, Dabota Lawson and Uti Nwachukwu.
Pastor killed during argument with neighbour
The
police in Lagos have commenced investigations into the death of a 67-year-old
cleric, Monday Ojajuni, who was allegedly killed by a woman, Temidayo Oladele,
in front of his church in Mile 12.
Punch
Metro learnt that the deceased, who was the
Superintendent Evangelist of Celestial Church of God, Mile 12, died during a
confrontation with Oladele over the latter’s decision to scoop some sand in
front of his church.
The
19-year-old daughter of the deceased, Oluwaseun, said she witnessed the
incident on July 19, 2013.
She
said, “The woman (Oladele) came to pack sand in front of the church and another
cleric, Assistant Superintendent Evangelist Samuel Oteghene, told her not to
pack the sand. When my father arrived at the scene, Oteghene went inside.
“But
the woman rebuffed all entreaties not to pack the sand, instead, she turned
violent and tore my father’s robe.
“My
father then told her that she would run mad within seven days. When she heard
this, she

Ronaldo’s Girlfriend, Paula showed off her trim and toned figure in a bikini
The
former footballer took his girlfriend Paula Morais and his young daughters to a
beach in Ibiza to have some fun.
Paula,
who wore an orange bandeau bikini with thong bottoms, was seen running around
the beach.
It
seems Ronaldo has started working on his tummy; they were more rotund some
months back.
