Filo: Afeez Oyetoro fondly
called SAKA is a popularly name in the entertainment circles possibly because of
his hilarious interpretation of roles.
The
lecturer cum actor before now was known as a brand ambassador of EMTS (Etisalat); however in the recent porting
advert of MTN, Saka seems to have
dumped his first love. The ad started with Saka dressed in green traditional
attire only to metamorphose into a yellow costume singing ‘I don port o, I don
port go MTN. I don upgrade to MTN‘.
Let’s
recall an interview he granted Saturday Tribune last year, SAKA said “As you
must have known I had a very poor
background and I have said it before that at a point in my life, poverty
was too evident with bread and beans
as well as guguru and epa being my
anointed foods but today it is all history. The Etisalat campaign is blessing my pockets, it has also boosted my
profile to the point that I believe that real stardom will soon come. However,
I am still my humble self”
Saka, so what happened?
Kiyo: Many questions begging
for answers;
1. Was
there a contractual agreement between Etisalat and Saka or his rep?
2. If
yes, has the contract elapsed?
3. If
no, why would a company in the calibre of EMTS
have a brand ambassador or propagandist without a contractual document?
4. Is
MTN more afraid of Etisalat than other competitors?
5. Would
the advertising war obviously started by MTN be healthy for our nascent porting
regime?

Bidi, nice collections.
Filo: Kanye West is surely
on a tweeting effusion; with words like “Some people only enter your life as a temporary
happiness. Enjoy what you felt and move on. It was never meant to be” and “No
one wants to be treated like an option”, it seems the rapper needed to get
stuff off his chest.
Kiyo: In a programme organised in Lagos yesterday by the Redeemed Christian Church of God, G2G Parish with the aim of motivating the youth, top Nollywood actor, Funsho Adeolu, accompanied by his wife, Iboro opened up on the secrets of his success. Stating the obvious that hard work pays; Funsho maintained he cannot underestimate the effect of his closeness to God on his career and prayers from his wife whose parents are pastors in MFM.
He said ‘the mother is a pastor in MFM, the father is a pastor in MFM; that’s my wife’s parent. Everything around me is fire brand’
The actor who is seen by some as unmarried because of the way he shield his family from public glare, encouraged the youth to draw their strength from God, distinguishing between interest and talent. ‘There is a difference between interest and talent, if what you have for acting is interest, then the movie industry is not for you’ he said.
Also responding to a question on how ladies sleep their way to the top in Nollywood, Funsho citing the case of Genevieve maintained it is possible to get to the peak of Nollywood without sleeping with producers or directors. Kiyo: Russian businessman
Alisher Usmanov has knocked Lakshmi Mittal off the top of this year's Sunday
Times Rich List with a jump in his fortune to 13.3 billion pounds after a tough
year for the Indian steel magnate.
In an
annual survey of the wealthiest people in Britain, Mittal drops to fourth after
eight years at number one as his fortune tumbled 2.7 billion pounds to 10
billion.
Uzbek-born
Usmanov, who is Russia's richest man and has a major shareholding in British
Premier League football club Arsenal, saw his wealth rise by 985 million pounds
over the past year, according to the annual survey by the British newspaper.
Filo: Arsenal’s third position
in the English Premier League Table did not stop Usmanov from clinching the top
spot on UK rich list.
Filo: Though she did a
remix of Bob Marley’s song ‘No more trouble’, but it appears trouble can’t stop
chasing Lauryn Hill. Last week she was accused of not filling appropriate tax
returns where she faces a maximum of one year in prison and $100,000 in fines
for each count. Now the Grammy Award-winner is also reportedly being sued by
her landlord for eviction.
According
to TMZ, Hill’s South Orange, NJ landlord has filed an eviction lawsuit in

Kiyo: The contribution of
social networks such as facebook, tweeter etc to our inter-personal and
business relation cannot be over emphasized. That is why organisations capitalize
on the followership to get their products and services to potential customers.
It is in the light of advertising their services that the oldest profession
known to man decided to take to facebook to canvass for patronage.

in Ghana’. They have a catchword “There's
