Tina Turner weds at 73 in Switzerland

Singer Tina Turner is a married woman after quietly exchanging vows with her long-term partner in Switzerland, according to local reports.

The 73-year-old R&B-rock icon, who became a Swiss citizen in April, wed German record executive Erwin Bach, 57, in a discreet civil ceremony on the banks of Lake Zurich in Kusnacht “a few days ago,” municipal official Hannes Friess said.

The newlyweds will celebrate the union in a Buddhist ceremony at their estate in Kusnacht on Sunday, and reports suggest 120 guests will attend the festivities.

Before her relationship with Bach began in the mid-1980s, Turner was married to her musical partner Ike Turner for 14 years. The pair divorced in 1978, and Ike Turner’s alleged abuse of his wife was chronicled in the singer’s 1993 biopic, What’s Love Got to Do with It.

News of Turner’s wedding plans spread in early April amid reports suggesting she and Bach had become engaged, but a representative for the singer refused to comment.

Rapper Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose Tied the Knot

Amber Rose, who formerly dated Kanye West, has tied the knot with Pittsburgh-born and-bred rapper Wiz Khalifa. The couple, who welcomed a son, Sebastian, in February, applied for a marriage license in Los Angeles last week – and yesterday they got married.

Wiz later took to twitter to announce their nuptial;

“Me and Amber got married today. Weddings this fall. Thought I’d let yall know,”

Singer, Beyonce has a new stepmom – this is because her father Mathew Knowles had married former model Gena Charmaine Avery last weekend.

A rep for Mr. Knowles confirms to the Associated Press that the couple tied the knot on Sunday following a year and a half engagement.

According to the report, Knowles, 61 wed Gena Charmaine Avery, 48 in Houston, Texas last Sunday (June 30) after a year and a half of engagement.

The wedding revelation marks a return to the headlines for Knowles, who has maintained a low profile since first wife (Beyonce’s mother) Tina Knowles filed for divorce after he fathered a child with his secretary Alexsandra Wright in 2009. Beyonce parted ways with him as a manager two years later.

Football player, Nnamdi Asomugha Secretely Marries Actress Kerry Washington

According to reports by E! News, Kerry Washington got married to San Francisco 49ers cornerback, Nnamdi Asomugha on June 24 in Blaine County, Idaho.

The notoriously private actress and football player have reportedly been dating for one year, since summer 2012.

This is the first marriage for Washington, 36, who went from generally lovely actress to mega-star over the past year, thanks to her role in Django Unchained

Like his bride, Asomugha, 31 is a dedicated activist and philanthropist: he runs a charity in Nigeria and attends the Clinton Global Initiative conference, while she raises money for the American Cancer Society and addressed the crowd at the 2012 Democratic National Convention.

Controversial Wedding: Deeper Life Suspends Pastor Kumuyi’s Son & Daughter-In-Law (VIDEO)

The Deeper Christian Life Ministry has suspended John Kumuyi, the second son of its General-Superintendent, Pastor William Kumuyi, over his controversial wedding in Jamaica.

The report was contained in an online video on Tuesday.

John was suspended on account of his bride, who flouted the church’s rules by using make-up and other flashy ensemble that accompanied a fitted wedding gown. The gown also had see-through sleeves. His bride, Love Odih, was accused of flouting the established doctrine of the church on conservative dressing.

Though the new couple, who got married on June 15, 2013, had apologised, the apology did not stem the tide of criticisms by numerous members of the church.

In the video, their apology was read on Saturday by Pastor Akpofure, during the church’s monthly miracle and revival programme, held at Deeper Life Conference Centre, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

MTV Stars Damien Fahey and Grasie Mercedes Wed

U.S. Tv presenter Damien Fahey wed fellow MTv star Grasie Mercedes on Friday (28Jun13).

The small screen hosts, who first met in 2002 at the MTv headquarters in New York, exchanged vows at the Maravilla Gardens in Camarillo, California in front of family and friends.

Fahey says, "Grasie and I are now part of the long list of couples that married after meeting at MTv years ago. We're excited to begin spending our lives together in silence while constantly staring at our iPhones."

The ceremony was officiated by Fahey's former Total Request Live co-host Dave Holmes, while other celebrity guests included Johnny Knoxville, Breaking Bad actor Matt Jones and Bridesmaids star Kali Hawk.

Ban on Same Sex Marriage lifted in California, Gay Couples rushed to marry

Same-sex couples rushed to San Francisco’s City Hall on Friday to be legally married after an appeal court officially ended California’s ban on gay marriage following a landmark ruling at the Supreme Court this week.

Within moments of the ruling, couples, officials and activists began to converge on San Francisco City Hall, where unions were due to resume immediately.

Meanwhile, the couple whose case sparked this week’s Supreme Court decision exchanged vows in a ceremony officiated by state Attorney General Kamala Harris.

“This is really a great day,” said Sandy Stier, who with her fiancée Kristin Perry filed the lawsuit against Proposition 8, the ballot initiative that outlawed same-sex marriage in California in 2008.

California, which briefly allowed marriages in 2008, now becomes the 13th state, and the largest, to allow gay marriage.

The Arsenal star married Melanie at the fairytale ceremony at Castello Di Vincigliata in Tuscany, 9 years after the couple met while Walcott was at Southampton.

John Kumuyi, the second son of Pastor William Kumuyi, took his heartthrob to the altar. The joyful ceremony was held on Saturday, 15 June at the Deeper Life Bible Church, after the traditional wedding.

John Kumuyi married Miss Love Odih, who is said to be the daughter of the National Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry in Jamaica and former State Overseer of the church in Cross River State, Nigeria.

Pastor Kumuyi, who wore an ash suit, attended the engagement and church wedding with his wife Esther, who wore traditional attire. The bridegroom wore a grey suit, while the bride was decked in flowing white gown with a veil to match.

John sauntered out of the church with his now-wife after the cleric had taken them through marital vows. A huge cake was cut during the wedding by the new couple.

Earlier during the traditional wedding, the bride wore native while the groom was simply decked in English wear.

Wedding Cancelled in Ekiti as Bride refuses to show up

A bride refused to show up at her wedding at the Cathedral Church of Emmanuel, Okesa, Ado-Ekiti, on Saturday resulting in the cancellation of the wedding.

Our correspondent learnt that the groom, who is from Ifaki-Ekiti in Ido-Osi Local Government Area of the state, was already in the church but waited in vain for the arrival of his bride.

Her whereabouts were unknown hours after the service had started.

The failure of the bride to show up, it was gathered, forced the clerics to cancel the wedding and invited guests reportedly left one after the other, when it dawned on them that the ceremony would no longer hold.

The Dean of the Cathedral, Very Reverend, F.O Bankole, when contacted on the telephone confirmed the incident to our correspondent.

He said, “It is true that a wedding which was planned to hold in the church today was cancelled. The bride did not show up.”

Bankole said he did not know why the bride failed to showed up, but added that the couple had been “having some issues since they started courting.”

Filo: Terrence Howard, who played Hollis Lucetti in the 2011 movie, The Ledge is single again. The actor's divorce from Michelle Ghent was finalized this week, and he actually got the bulk of their marital property, including two houses and all 25 bank accounts.

According to the divorce order, Michelle Ghent is to return the actor's 2011 Range Rover, leaving her with a bike.

On the other hand, Terrence was ordered to pay Michelle $5,800 a month in spousal support for the next three years.

You'll recall, Michelle filed for divorce in February 2011, a year after their wedding …and the split was really nasty, with Michelle accusing Terrence of viciously beating her, and Howard countering that she is a disgusting racist.

Kiyo: Alfredo Di Stefano says he wants to wed his 36-year-old secretary, Gina Gonzalez, and will ask Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to be his best man.

Di Stefano, whose wife Sara Freites died in 2005, admitted his six children might not be happy at hearing the news.

But he told Spanish newspaper 'El Mundo': "I've been a widower for eight years. I'm in love. I'm 86 years old but I've got a young heart."
